Transferring Steam Game files to a different PC, for a different account

Hi,

Trying to figure out the best way to transfer Steam game files from one laptop (mine) to my brother's PC. We both purchased the game, the exact same version with the exact same specs (during this sale period).

I have downloaded it, but he hasn't yet and we'd like to avoid another 84GB download. If anyone could give me step by step tips on how to make this happen, or if it is even possible?

I have seen a few posts on this but none that deal with my specific case (One steam account to another, that has already purchased the game).

Any help would be awesome.

Either use the backup feature or copy the files and the appmanifest.

Just copy game folder and appmanifest_appid.acf
You can find appid in the link on the store page.

Thank you both; but will that work even if the destination steam account is not the same as the origin steam account?
