Steam not opening.
After about 24hrs of being on, my computer refuses to open steam until I restart the computer, But it gets stuck at the restart screen every time. After a hard reset everything turns on as it should and steam opens and runs normally.

Computer is fully updated.

I've made sure there are no extra process of steam running in task manager.

the "steam client service" is stopped and won't start/restart.

A complete uninstall and reinstall of steam does nothing.

Only a restart fixes this issue, and only for about 24hours.

Still working on it, Have someone in a forum walking me through most of the steps I've already done/tried. If something new or helpful pops up I will update here!

Anybody else having this issue also using an Windows Xbox 360 controller? trying to narrow it down and thinking it might be a usb issue.

I have the exact same problem, thought I was the only one. If you find a solution, I'm interested :)

Anyone having this issue comment with some system stats and what devices you have plugged into your usb ports.

A friend has this same issue. He has a ps3 controller plugged in (However the driver makes windows think it is a xbox controller).

I have a ps3 controller plugged in aswell, with SCP Toolkit (recognized as an xbox controller by Windows, but that's the point of SCP Toolkit), might be it?

The next time your steam won't open, Open device manager and click scan for plug and play compliant hardware. If it freezes, then you're having the same issue as me. This program seems to have fixed it. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/windows-repair-all-in-one/ There is a more uptodate version on their homepage. https://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html
Im at 4 days 12 hours uptime and the computer has not had an issue.

Program is best ran in Safemode with networking. Afterwards boot as normal.
Windows 10 settings will all return to default.
