It has started today based on my knowledge... Most likely a glitch in steam that made it say the autumn sale.

There is no glitch. Steam NEVER had a black friday sale. Its always the "autumn sale".
There is really no connection to the Black Friday event except that the autumn sale in general falls in around the same time frame.

Also, the Black Friday sale is a one day brick and mortar sale event. The Cyber Monday sale is traditionally the bigger one day web-event that Steam doesn't officially participate in, either.

The Black Friday is an American thing, Autumn is a worldwide season (most of the time). Steam is a worldwide product. Very simple right ?

Isn't it Spring for the southern hemisphere though?

But, Valve is a USA based company where it's Autumn, right...

That sells games to worldwide customers including those in the Southern Hemisphere. They don't always stick to US stuff though as they have done sales for things such as the Chinese New Year or Canada day sale. Even the fall sale hasn't always been called the fall/autumn sale. In 2015 it was called the "Exploration Sale" not mentioning fall at all http://store.steampowered.com/news/19452/
