Function keys not working correctly

I just bought a steelseries apex 100 keybord and quickly realised the the function keys (F5-F12 specifically) are not working as they should. the brightnes keys (F5 and F6) do nothing while (and this is where it gets weird) the the rewind key (F7) is mute, the play/pause key (F8) is volume down, the fastforward key (F9) is volume up, the mute key (F10) enters fullscreen and the volume up and down keys (F11 and F12) do nothing. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

This has nothing to do with steam.
The keyboard is possibly the problem. If what you explained above is for any game, maybe the controls have been reset for all the games. Reassign the controls for whatever its happening on either way.

The problem is with the keybord, the only reason I'm looking for help here is because I can't find help anywhere else. While looking for help I noticed that other people had been asking questions similar to mine, in that they had nothing to do with steam and were keybord related, so I decided to ask here as a last resort.

If any question is keyboard related, they should be sending their questions to the seller of the keyboard, not to steam. No one on here can help with anything non-steam related except for the sellers of the things themselves.

Why would I even be here if I hadn't already tryed that? Like I said, this was a last resort.
