No more coupons from crafting badges?

Just have a question in regards to something I've noticed come up recently, it's not the biggest deal considering most of them were for undesirable games but just wondering what could have caused it.

I crafted over 100 sets yesterday and only received two coupons, crafted over 200 today and noticed that I only received three of them.

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm thinking it may be a bug that's leftover from the Winter sale since when crafting during it you get the Winter card as a bonus and since you can still buy Winter cards on the market the system probably thinks it's still dropping from crafting so doesn't give out a coupon.

The only other explanation I can come up with is maybe Valve are working on a new system that will be better then coupons for games that most people don't even want or they are just scrapping it all together.

All in all I don't think anyone (including myself) is going to care that much if they stop giving out those coupons, I was only curious since I just noticed they stopped dropping and wanted to see if anyone else had the same thing happen to them.

If they had made the coupon system for more interesting and desirable games then it could have worked out to be a pretty good incentive for a lot of people to regularly craft badges.

I think the coupons are done unfortunately, a lot of folks have mentioned just like you that they've crafted loads of badges and just aren't seeing any coupons. I can also confirm that I didn't receive any coupons with my last batch of newly crafted badges either.

They are rumors coupons are being removed.

SteamDB reported just recently that they were removed from the partner documentation.

No official word that I've seen but speculation is that this means they are gone.

Ah that's a shame, I don't remember seeing any announcements of it either. That's a shame, hopefully they end up replacing it with something else and not just scrap it altogether.

Ah there it is, thanks for that mate. Looks like it's over for them, still strange how I received three of them still today. Must be just the last of them.

I have not seen a coupon since 3 years ago. So yea, they been off for awhile on steam. Steam DB is correct. Also, hello Wasabi. Glad you got that other problem solved. I saw your post about it earlier.

I think in your case it's purely down to the fact you haven't crafted a game badge for over 2 years, you don't get coupons from free badges or event badges. Which explains why you haven't seen a coupon for a couple years.

That would make sense. I have not made a badge in quite awhile.

Foils are 1/100 chance.

But yeah. I've seen others state they are dropping at a highly reduced rate.

Maybe Steam got rid of them due to people not using them. Usually the games with coupons were shovelwere that most people weren't interested in. Or at least that's all I ever got coupons for.

Also, more and more people figured out that waiting till either the summer/winter sales event got you event cards instead of coupons, so they'd hold off crafting badges till then.
