Hide specific games from profile.
Is there any option to hide specific games from your profile or being able to play it without anyone noticing? I might want to get some games which I prolly won't be proud of... :lunar2019piginablanket:

Open Friends and chat expand arrow next to your name Go Invisible. You will look offline even playing games. When you come back to steam you remain invisible until you put it back.
hide games by the privacy settings.

Yes but I was wondering if you could do that on specific games. As in blacklisting a game on your library or something.

You could family-share to another account and play there, but all this seems to be focused on a bad idea regardless: why do you want to do that in the first place? Is that some "cool-factor" that is upped when you play certain games, and downed when you play certain other games? Just don't get used to caving in to peer pressure and this kind of question won't ever come up again.

In case I start playing some weird anime games, I definitely wouldn't want other people seeing that on my profile.

What I think OP wants is ability to totally hide specific games.
They don't show on your profile, in your Recent Activity, and no matter is your status set to Invisible or Online, other people won't be able to see that you're playing that game.

Well, I don't think the question here is "why I want to do it" but "how to do it" :)

family sharing seems a good suggestion, but I'd rather keep my games in 1 account. But just to answer your question, I don't hide my games in general except porn games if ever I do buy them. Of course I wouldn't want to show them that, but I want to show my other steam achievements and stuff.

I guess we feel the same way buddy. That's what i'm after, which is to totally hide specific games as if I've never bought them.

Just use an alternate account.
Ogami Mar 14, 2019 @ 12:59pm
OR , you could act like adults and just play what you want to play without caring what anyone else thinks?
And if they have a problem with what you play, well, that is THEIR problem and not yours?

Just saying.

I was suggesting it the other way 'round: if you don't want "A is playing foo" to show up, you can make another account, family share your games to it, and use that to play. Your normal "A" account will be offline, and never show you playing the game (if you don't forget changing accounts every time you play).

I love people acting like they are shameless. There's nothing wrong with some healthy shame TC. Sometimes that's part of the fun.

This is the answer though.

I play Senran Kagura or however you spell it. I was actually pleasantly surprised that it's a little fun to actually play. I bought Mirror too because it was like $6 for it and the relevant DLC to me. It had good reviews. Plus anime tiddies.

So basically you care what people think of the games you play... plot twist stop caring so much just play it

Don't listen to them. If they are being honest and truly don't care what others think they are sociopaths, not people to be listened to. Everyone cares what people think to a degree. And I think that it's perfectly reasonable to not want to have a profile to your sexual desires and habits.

Ohh I see. Good suggestion. Switching accounts seems tedious for me though, but I'll take your suggestion if ever :lunar2019laughingpig:

Don't worry, I don't listen to them for the most part. Though I get their point, they're basically suggesting to let people know that I'm currently enjoying some sort of porn. I find being open about your desires as normal, but not doing it discreetly is.... yeah -_- .

And if they really do care, they'll actually suggest some alternatives such as the ones in this thread who suggested family sharing, alternate accounts, or going invisible. I appreciate those types of answers instead of questioning other people's level of shame :lunar2019laughingpig:

Healthy shame --- exactly. Because not everybody is comfortable leaving the door open they're taking a dump.

With Steam allowing ANYTHING from ANYONE nowadays it is expected that some games deal you tabu stuff, especially in the NSFW zone. So Valve should understand that in this new scenario some players might want to play some games completely anonymously, with no tracking at all: no game stats, no achievements, nothing at all, as if played offline, outside of Steam. A feature to facilitate this is a MUST have. And don't tell me to "man up", you don't get to question my choices of privacy.
