Stable 30fps or unstable 60fps
What is better stable 30gps with high graphics or unstable 60 to 35fps with low graphics?

This.

Also the reason adaptive Vsync exists.

Stable 45fps

Unstable 30-60fps is still better than 30fps, unstable fps is only a problem if you have vsync enabled and you're not using triple buffering with it, aka the fps drops to 30 fps when the fps goes below refresh rate. Also adaptive is only a solution if you have to use vsync without triple buffering. If you're using triple buffering, then just use standard vsync, in recent years, you will get now camera motion jitter/hiccups when the scene or camera is moving while the vsync is turned off also with adpative vsnyc, because it turns off the vsync when the fps goes below refresh rate.

Long time ago there was that issue if you used vsync and if the fps went below refresh rate then you would get micro stutters in scene movement, but that has disappeared and instead got an issue instead that didn't exist before, when vsync is disabled.

Also it's pointless to ask from others what is better either low fps with high graphics or higher fps with low graphics, it's a matter of taste, and only you know what you like, you can't just ask what others like and decide based on that what you wanna use.

Last time I played Mafia 3, it felt worse to play with the jumpy framerate than the locked 30 FPS purely due to the highly inconsistent framepacing. I'd rather watch motion play out like Frame 1, Frame 1, Frame 2, Frame 2 than Frame 1, Frame 1, Frame 1, Frame 2, Frame 3, Frame 3...

Also, adaptive Vsync's point is to have Vsync off when the framerate is under 30, have it be locked to 30 when it's between 30 and 60, and have it be locked to 60 if it's above 60.

In a fast paced game, it's almost always better to have Vsync off if you don't want input lag, and can deal with the screen tearing - or then just get a better monitor, or lower your settings

If your happy with 30fps then 30fps all the way dude. For me, 30fps on PC is unplayable. Has to be 60fps min even with low settings.

For me it largely depends on the game and its framepacing.

Some games at 30 FPS look worse than others.

On PC I generally aim for the performance, but you don't get that luxury when playing on consoles for example, minus some exceptions like the remastered The Last Of Us, which being a remaster of the previous gen's game, is precisely why it even has that worse fidelity; better performance setting.

Spiderman? Looks pretty smooth even at 30 FPS, while it's a nobrainer it would look even smoother at 60 FPS. Bloodborne? That looks unplayable to me, but to each their own.

Notice the OP said 60-35 FPS on low.

Good point, then it just depends what you want more, better graphics or smoother framerate, unstable isn't an issue if you know how to use vsync.

Also why is he even asking about that, it's pointless, it's a matter of taste, we can't give advice about if he should be playing with high or low graphics, we can only give advice in technical aspects, not what someone should like or not.
