Steam games should use Steammods
They probably out of date .
When you get a hunch maybe you should listen to it?
I'm just going on Op comment from an unknown source> They vastly improve the gameplay but these mods are old and I should download them (along with a program like 7zip) from an unknow source.
But I'm still paranoid about links and downloading outside of steam.
Not to mention that Steamworkshop mods have a 100 MB limit, so every mod that is larger than 100 MB , need to be uploaded on sides like Nexus fe.
And this pages are safe, i use them since years, and never encountered an issue.
Trusting sources above else is dangerous. A trustworthy source may get hacked and used to spread malware (not an academic example, such situations in fact do happen). So check, using the questions above, if the mod in question is safe.
Paranoia is plain dumb. As I outlined above, you're robbing yourself of valid options while at the same time not even keeping yourself safe. Use knowledge and logic instead. Knowledge is power. Feeling safe or unsafe may fail you but knowing if you're safe or not, now that's both reliable and it just feels so good!
Alright, thank you.
I never tried Moddb, thanks for the tip :)
