What's EA Play?

Hi, what happens if i subscribe to EA Play?
Does that mean that i don't have to buy the games and can play it without purchasing it even games like the new upcoming Battlefield 6?

EA play is a subscription. you have access to games that belong to EA and when you stop paying the subscription, you will no longer have access to those games.

what EA play gives you access to is set by EA and can change.

new games may have limits to how long you can play them each month thru EA Play.

I recommend you get EA Play through EA's own platform Origin, as you get access to way more games that way.

From what I understand if you purchase through Steam it won't even show you playing the games here, you still have to use Origin, and you get access to less games than if you just paid through EA.

You need Origin anyway if you want to use EA Play.

You can't have EA Play without Origin. Even if you get it through Steam, you still must use Origin.

If you get it through Steam, you get less games and still must use Origin.

I know, you need an EA account to play an EA game purchased on Steam (just like needing a Rockstar account for GTA V purchased on Steam), but do you "also" need EA Play subscription as additional cost?

No. If you BUY the game, you don't need an EA Play or EA Play Pro subscription for the version of the game your purchased.

If you also have an active EA Play/Pro subscription, there is a chance that the EA app will override your Steam purchase with the EA Play/Pro version if it comes with content not included in your base Steam purchase. But you lose that extra content when you cancel your EA Play/Pro subscription.
