Quick question about the game profiles

Can i select only parts of it? Like the green UI theme from the Half Life pack and use a different wallpaper for example? Any chance of them being sold separately later?

The only thing you can't change is the theme color.

I doubt they would sell the stuff separate later, but these days you never know.

If for some reason they did it would just anger a lot of people who already bought them. It says on the preview page the items are exclusive to the bundles. Plus who would ever buy the bundles again knowing they would eventually come later separate, thus making the bundles feature useless. Unless they offered a heavy discount when buying the bundles over separate.

imagine your desired combo, then start selecting the special profile based on your desired theme, a special profile if you want their theme, or a normal profile if you want a normal theme, then pick everything else

Yes, we know that. Which is why that is step number 1.

Step 1) Pick whatever theme you want. If its a regular one you have to disable the game profile first. If its one from a game profile enable said special profile.

Step 2) change your background/frame to whatever you want

You can not change the theme color.

Forget the rest of the crap as I am only talking about the theme color, which can not be changed.

I didn't.

I said the "theme" which is the 6 different colors that can not change with a game profile active.

Let's say I choose Midnight. Then, equip the game profile. The Midnight color theme is gone and it uses the theme color from the game profile.

Basically, you CAN change the theme. But you do it indirectly by first equipping the game profile (theme is attached to game profile), then changing everything else.

The way you change your theme with the new game profiles is by equipping the new game profiles FIRST. You cannot change your theme in your 'Edit Profile', but you can change it by equipping a different Game Profile in the steam points shop.

Most of them are transparent so it will follow whatever colour is your background picture colour. Some of them are solid.

So say I wanted to have the original Steam UI theme, I would first equip the HL:Alyx Game Profile then I can change my background picture, mini-profile background, avatar frame, avatar, and so on.

Game profile = Theme.
