activating a game from a very old steam account.

so put it simply decades ago. i bought a physical copy of COD blackops.
and for some reason even tough the game ran from a DVD-ROM

the game needed to be downloaded from steam
so i had to made an account in order to play it:
years has passed by and i suddenly saw the game while looking for another one
i tried to see if i get lucky by activating the game in my steam account... but well no such luck cuse the game was activated in a different account.

so to put it simply: i have a pysical copy of a game with a serial that is activated on an account that i no longer and i have no clue what the details of this account even are.

is there a way to "import" the game somehow to my corrent steam account?

If you have *any* inkling of the original email that was used to create the steam account, maaaaaybe and if you have the original login confirmation or account confirmation?

I mean, I've moved plenty of my own email off its original host so I don't even know if I have it any longer but there's a possiblilty that if you KNOW the email that was used, you could try and recover the account using the 'I don't have access' option.

But no, you cannot then import one that's already been assigned to an account. Best you could hope for there is that you somehow manage to recover access to that original one.

If you have a Steam key, then support should be able to figure out the account. You'll still have to go through some recovery procedure with them, though.

Say you get your account back with COD BO. You then remove the game from your account (you need to make a support ticket. Would you be able to re-use the same code again as it is not linked to any account?

No. Again, games cannot be transferred between accounts. They key will remain used = useless, and the game will just be gone.
