why can steam not close scamming websites
i think it is dumb that smaller kids go on fake websites and get there skins raped in the dark space

Ever actually though this one through? Why can't any company just shut down the websites they dislike? Because website owners are protected of course, they also have certain rights.

Ergo: you can't "just" shut something down, you need the justice department to sort all of that out.

Because they have as much power as you do. They just can't go to the webhoster and say "turn that site off now".

That's simply not how the internet works.

Can you imagine if Supermarket 1 could just say, we don't like this farmer selling his products - let's shut him down?

The internet has a great many things due to the freedom that comes with it, but it also brings out a darker side of people - as is humanity.
