You don't see a WoW 2
well u know dude how many players quit from spiral since the developer is not active
like alien swarm reactive drop
they got some players back
>new players are more willing to play since it's a newly released game
>don't feel so left behind in terms of progression
Sega doesn't own right to Spiral Knights anymore. But obviously someone who wants a sequel wouldn't even bother to follow the updates on the game.
The main developper left (Nick Popovich) about 3 years ago (there's a statue in-game in his honour, though I bet you'd have to Google or wander around to find it. I know where it is)
OOO sold the game in 2016 to Grey Havens who have nothing to do with Sega (the promos for Sonic CD doesn't work anymore if you didn't knew)
Pretty much, you can update the game.
WOA WOA WOA, they can barely do a boss and you want a whole new engine? Do you even know what an engine is? It's just an environment to work with. Spiral Spy is pretty good tool to work with so I doubt they'll change it.... because
SK is not popular and was never popular. It only had traffic because of a stupid Team Fortress 2 hat in 2011 and plumetted afterwards. Only during promo or new content there would be a lot of people (August 2013 is BS update IIRC)

We don't really need a surge or idiotic teenager. The dev got a few milking cow who buy in masses during promos and that's all they need. If you want to make SK popular then stream it, talk about it to Pewdiepie and the sort who can make this game popular with a 10 min video like you cannot believe. The community make the game. There is so few content regarding SK on Twitch or Youtube. It's never gonna be popular even if it has a SK2
Also you progress to 5* and then you are done and just hoard items you like because you can... It's not like I'm gonna use any of my 4 torto gun and 4 torto shield 5*. I just have them because I can.

Notice the MASSIVE spike in 2013, LONG after the whole "steam f2p" store update. If anything, the biggest "plummet" was between july and october 2014. It's only been gradually going downhill since then.
This may only be indicative of STEAM users but that doesn't matter since you specifically mentioned the hat.
My achievements date back to June 2011 and not the Steamchart so that's why I'm saying this. There was a lot more people when the game launched on Steam. Steamchart came afterward, in July 2012
Left 4 Dead 1

Team Fortress 2

They both stops at July 2012. You don't have to look at fact and just shout them you have to analyze them and comprehend it...
Edit: Or Steamchart delete archives after 5 years. Since we are in June and the record stops in July, that would make sense...
We don't need a sequel though; there's still room to expand the storyline and the rank missions. We still need missions to save Alpha Team from The Core, defeat the Swarm, repair the Skylark and return home.

This.
Btw, the game is quite dead for a sequel at this moment. Obviliously
most of the people that dislike those are just purely too lazy to get them.
Seriously, how is it hard to go to an D28 arena? Or do D&N and burning maybe 2 - 3 sparks? Or even doing FSC?
