RTX 2080
Hello guys! does anyone here got the new rtx 2080 and tried playing tdu2. i got this card as a gift and it works really great with all games except tdu2. as soon as i open map ingame, the game crash to desktop after screen goes black for a few minutes. i have tried everything from reseating the card to use ddu and removed traces from old drivers. so does anyone else here got the card??? and if so, does your tdu2 crash when open map???? thanx for help.

When you open the map in TDU2, there is no framerate limit. Due to low scene complexity, if you have vsync=off the framerate gets so high that the graphics card gets severly stressed generating more heat.

Try these two tests:

1) Turn vsync on in game then see if map works without crashing.

2) Use MSI Afterburner +RTSS then in RTSS, limit framerate to 60 and see if map works without crashing.

Post back with results once tested.
Hello! thanx for your awnser. well thing is, i use a 35” monitor with G-sync, 100hz, therefore i always limit my fps in Tdu2 to 95 fps. also to ad, i used a gtx 1080 in this machine before and there was no issues. i also tested the latest 400 driver with tdu2 on my other pc, this pc runs with a 1060 and there is no issues. i can also say that my RTX machine is newly formated, and have a fresh copy of win 10 with all uppdates. i have also tried to change TdrDelay in register to 8, and that wont di the trick either.

Fair enough.

As it is a fresh Win 10 install,
go into Power Settings,
then Advanced,
then Change What The Power Button Does,
then untick Fast Boot.

Now shutdown PC then retry TDU2 (after turning PC back on)

I suspect it to be Win 10 being annoying - hence disable fast boot suggestion.
or
Could just be current drivers on RTX cards may be problematic.
or
Could just be something unique to playing some older games on RTX cards.

I'm sorry I can't test myself as I don't have RTX.
Give disable fast boot a try though as it fixes a lot of annoying Win 10 issues.

I'm also having this issue, driver updates haven't fixed anything so I doubt they will in the future. I've tried various fixes for both the game and the game's engine on the PCGamingWiki to no effect. There might be some sort of solution out there.

If you list the things you have tried I might have some other suggestions but without knowing what you have tried I can't really say much other than RTX does seem to have trouble currently eg hardware failure, driver issues regarding stability and artifacting etc. NVIDIA are still pushing driver updates to resolve issues but regarding TDU2 stability it could be driver related or it could be game related specific to TDU2.

Feel free to post what you tried and I will stay subbed to this thread.
Creators stopped supporting this game for newest graphic cards, especially for RTX. You just have to accept that.

That isn't how it works though, this issue could be resolved with driver updates by NVIDIA going forward.

It is too early to tell.

it isn't nvidia's prerogative to support a game this old, especially one that is no longer available for purchase digitally

That wasn't my point, my point was RTX launch drivers have been shaky in general so NVIDIA may still be ironing out issues which in turn have the positive knockon effect of resolving the RTX TDU2 issue.

I was being optimistic and not suggesting NVIDIA would specifically target the issue just for this game.

Granted I could have been clearer though ;o)

Offtopic - nice profile, always looks good when people do that with background artwork.

Does anyone resolve the problem?
Same problem, with RTX 2060 and Windows 7 x64, and driver version 430.53 :(
Still no fix for this issue. I'm on GTX 1660ti and I'm having the same issue. I hit map. game pseudo freezes and unless I switch out of the map quickly, the game will black screen and crash.
That's sad, the only soluce that I will try to solve that sh*t is that I will use the Intel UHD 630 to play the game...
The game is old so I will be able to run it with that GPU, not in ultra settings but that's better than nothing.

I contacted nvidia to report this issue with the rtx because it is probably the driver as I can open the map sometimes without any crash of my game :)
I wish there was a fix. I played around with settings in Nvidia Profile Inspector, but, the map went from always crashing the game, to almost always crashing the game. Still looking at solutions. Sad, but I have nothing better to do atm, and I'll post here if I manage to fix this issue.
