Anti-Borg Space Weaponry
I purchased 2 antiproton dual heavy cannons Mk X (Borg) back when they had the requisition dept. on DS9. I would love to upgrade them to Mk XII, but have no idea how to accomplish that.
Is it even possible?

You would now have to get them via the reputation system. Devs also said that the borg ability doesn't work anymore. Could keep them as a momento though. Thats what I did.

Basicly ul have to get to tier 5 omege reputation sistem to get the gear, like mk12 shields and stuff, but i doubt that theres going to be mk12 borg, theres new kinds of weps, polirazed disruptors, spiral vave disrup. (i play only kling so disruptors r my main interest dont know but theres other types, plasma is now powerfull) so they replaced borg sys weps but there is a lot of good or better alternatives, if u cant pick up weps theres exchange and its not that expensive... i could have been shorter and said its not posible but...

Thank you for the replys gentlemen, it has helped. My Fed avi uses the Mobius Destroyer with the Temporal Warfare set, coupled with AP weaponry, and a Cutting Beam. I play on Elite difficulty, yet cannot ever get Mk XI or Mk XII AP weaponry to drop. Had to use the exchange to purchase Mk XI AP beam arrays for 2 of 3 aft slots. Fore slots are Chronoton dual beam, 2 AP dual heavy cannons Mk X (Borg) and cutting beam.

Get into a fleet and get yourself Fleet Anti-Proton Mk XII weapons, most powerfull weapons you can get.

I can: TKO. We're a friendly, fair, flexible fleet that's geared toward helping people get the best they can out of STO. Don't believe me? Come talk to us. "Anishal@Lazorbolt35" (without the quotes.)

i have not brought weapons from ds9 thing in a long time, i did not know it had changed. I wen there before quickly and thought it was a glitch. Is it harder to get the weapons now or is it easier, I don't even know how to get reputation things. i have played the game for over a year and have played almost 300 hours, but i have only ever gotten 13 fleet credits and rep.

Mark 12 weapons are a lot harder to come by now, yes. That said, the difference in performance between Mark 11 and 12 weapons really isn't that big.

If absolutely need XII:
Fleet weapons - require you to be in a fleet, cost a healthy sum of dilithium and fleet credits each(and most fleets will have restrictions on provisioning given the effort needed to acquire them).
Romulan reputation weapons - require you to take part in the resource-sink of a reputation grind. they also cost a sizeable amount of dilithium to purchase even after you unlock them.
Lucky drops from Elite content - a crapshot, really, this is why they are soo expensive on the exchange.
Lockbox weapon packs - again, very luck based. the hybrid weapons in the boxes 'can' be Mark 12, but you don't have control over that or if they're the weapon type you're after.

that sucks. i still have some borg nerul prcessor stuff that was used to purchase stuff.

The BNPs are part of the new system. You're probably thinking of the old Prototype stuff that was automatically converted.

You can still exchange BNPs (and omega marks) for dilithium and high end items that unlock at the end of the Omega reputation. Primarily the Adapted sets. (Omega reputation still has the anti-borg ground weapons that you can unlock still - although they are just as expensive to actually purchase as the Romulan counterparts.)

how do you even buy stuff anyomore?
Szeron Mar 10, 2013 @ 6:43am
Each reputation system has its own store you can unlock equipment for through the various repuation projects. It's built straight into the reputation UI and the button will light up once you unlock something for that store.

Found a fleet, thanks for the suggestions.

I do not play on any higher setting than the free, default one, so all of these responses are interesting but meaningless to me; I think that once I hit Rear Admiral Lower Half, the game changed completely and is now a fair, fun space combat game; ground combat not so much; when you play on the higher levels your ships do not self-repair, yes? You have to incur lots of extra costs at higher levels and so have to keep - I think your term is "grinding" - to maintain a cash flow.
So my question to throw out is can you join a fleet and still play on the lowest level? Thanks.
