there is however a star trek bridge commander game on VR atm.fyi
Ya is that why the vr sells have done very well, and many top name devs support it? Look, if you can't afford it that is fine, but lying to yourself so that you don't feel left out, we see through your bs.
Really? Majority? That is some bs right here.
Most gamers want VR, some are not happy with the current setup, and waiting for it to get better. Others want it but don't have the funds for it.
Immersion is part of gaming, and VR is the best you will get. No gamer in his or right mind would turn down a tool that makes the immersion part better. That is why in the past virtual boys, movies about VR came out. VR is the dream that gamers had growing up, the 80s and 90s heavily talked about the future. We are living that now.
No it is not like saying. "All gamers like FPS"
Why do gamers enjoy better graphics? Also all games can be in VR, you have desktop tools to play any game in VR.
Would you like to fool your brain into playing on a Huge screen TV? Sure you can do that.
Would you like a curved screen that is more ScFi tech? You can do that.
Also YES VR is the dream gamers had growing up. I can list how many VR movies, or even nintendo trying to cash in on VR.
Gamers love immersion, and they love options on how to play games. VR lets you play games in new ways. You could play STO on a huge movie threater screen. Or you could do it while looking around in space. The point is that hating on VR is foolish as a gamer. Hating more options? Hating immersion? If you deny basic simple things like this, you can't be called a gamer.
coffee and donuts while playing your fav mmo would be a chore =)
Haha true, that is one downside :p
Major issue would be the controls and for strategy it won't be until we have a minority report style glove interface controller that those will work well, although in a competetive world flat screen with kb&m will always be faster than tapping air.
STO in VR would need redone from the ground up to work well. First person room scale for ground missions would work but doing that for space combat would end up being closer to either what bridge crew is or require a gods eye view and a much less hands on approach looking more like the whitestars holoviewer.
But doing that you'd have the situation where the player would maybe have to drop out of the VR environment to find their seat and possibly even swap controls about. Multiple control schemes for a single game can be a real faff, I use a hotas and dualshock4 for playing ED one for flight and the other for the buggy and in VR you need to make sure to know where the pad is if you want to remain in the world.
VR in the 80's was a proof of concept and its only now that tech is starting to get close to where it needs to be. The headsets are more or less there and its the more the controls that need worked out now, both physical and ingame.
I can put you there.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Nostradamus is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I'm gonna shut you down with one word. Keep in mind, this word is on topic.
Holodeck
That is all.
You're confusing "put you there" with "sponsor." People on the list don't get to make recommendations.
