Which mods are good and balanced?

Which mods are especially good while still keeping the balance of the game?

I've just downloaded the More Rooms Mod and the More Dred (item pack), as they both seem to fit the bill, but now I want some skills or classes which fit nicely into the game.

Any recommendations are appreciated thanks!

Hmm... maybe "Compleat (sic) Essential Skills"? I haven't really tried it a whole lot but I heard some good things about it. To be honest I don't think Dungeons was ever balanced, or that there were really attempts to balance it tbh. Even with just the vanilla game some skills or combinations of skills are just silly OP and probably any class that you add to it can be comboed with something for similar effect.

Ok thanks I've downloaded a few (usurper, galactic hitchhiker, and roguish renovation which contains 3 skills).

Now I just need to see if they work with the dlcs and/or overwrite existing skills lol.

You have to try the "Death by a Thousand Taunts" Mod!
It has nothing to do with skills or items or Gameplay, but it does add a TON of hilarious new taunts for the monsters to insult you with.

The example ones didnt really impress me and there were some taunts included in the roguish renovation mod, I may try it at some point though.

Can check the collection I made. It's all the neat mods that are still balanced around the game.

Except for the fact that certain mods work too well with other mods if you know what you're doing, but...well, then again you can do the same with the default skills.

I'm a fan of Ascii Invasion, as it's one of the few mods out there that adds new monsters. Plus it offers a nice dose of nostalgia for fans of old-time rogue-likes.
