You can just click the "play" or "forward" button or whatever you want to call it and stand still while the time passes.
You will still get the random map events though, even if you aren't traveling around.
The tree is there to show that if you want to unlock something further on, you have to have at least 1 solid line unlocked up to it. It doesn't matter which line.
If your main character is wounded you can opt to merely pass time in camp
This precludes the risks of random events or running out of water
Lets face it, as a legate with a bunch of servi, why would I want to camp outside the walls?
Take a couple of the more comely servi to the baths and enjoy the perqs of rank!
At least as long as the smith is busily pounding out that chunk of scrap into a viable sword
If we are talking real life, any legatus that did that on campaign would get a legionary gladius stuck in his back. Romans were strict on discipline. And heavily frowned on such luxuries while on campaign.
But it is a problem with how the game was coded that prevent passing time in camp. That was asked and the developer did this answer(it is very hard because of how the game was coded to add passing time in camp and not in the province map).
I think most of us would be happy w/ the solution they have already for when your main character is injured and needs to pass time in the infirmary.
It's a perfectly serviceable solution that already exists in the game.
I agree. It goes back to the main map but prevents any events from being triggered. Seems odd they could implement it when your character is injured, but wouldn't be able to do that at any other time.
