What I might do is add an optional feature where sounds appear as ripples on your left/right as indicators. Would that be cool with you? Hope you can let me know. If so, please stick around so I can announce when this feature goes live.
Thank you !
In the menu screen (Clea on a swing), type 0011. You will hear a chime to indicate this new mode is now active (re-type to turn it off). The config is stored in your save data, so no need to re-type when you open the game again.
When this feature on, whenever an enemy takes a step or pants, you will see a red indicator to your left or right, depending on where the sound is from. The louder the noise, the bigger the red flash.
Please note at the moment, there are unfortunately some occasions when the indicators may appear on the wrong side. This only happens when you are extremely close to the enemy, but you are in different areas. There is an inaccuracy with the direction calculation because the widths of your area and the enemy's area are different. Hopefully this will not hamper the experience. If it does, happy to discuss further.
I am not sure if the indicators will become too "in your face". Maybe you will end up preferring to play with it off, even. Happy to hear your thoughts and continue from there.
And, of course, if you spot any general bugs, please let me know. Always a bit scary to push new features.
Thank you !
