Is there a way to play keyboard only?

I used to play the free version and mouse feels way too clunky and slow, is there a way to opt not to use it?

There is an option that says "Keyboard Cursor enabled," but it doesn't seem to do anything when I turn it on. I really just want the old control scheme back :(

It seems to only appear when you choose a suitable command, like dig.

I see that now. I had to change the WASD binds to the arrow keys and set the Keyboard Cursor to enabled and now things feel a bit better.

+1, they really need to make this more comfortable. This was my main way of playing DF.
Also the numpad doesn't seem to work in this game.

They changed all the keybinds and hotkeys are only visible when hoovering with the mouse.... it's horrible.

Can someone please post a Workshop keybinds that uses the numpad and gets all the menus back to classic?

Just play the free version then? You can still buy this one to support the devs; you don't have to actually play it.

well i spent better part of first hour trying to figure it out and i failed...seems the cursor will indeed appear when choosing a suitable command and i can select the area but i cannot confirm it, its still trying to place ie dig command under the cursor.

edit: ok so following DF discord 100% kbd control is unfortunately not possible at this moment

Well wow, that's the way to go about it right? The game doesn't need to get any better than this, right?

I wish I could have these graphics in the free version now since I bought it. I've played so much DF that muscle memory is really hard to get away from. Especially when they even made the interface worse in some cases.
For instance in menus, shortcut keys have been underlined or bolded since the 80's but not in this new version...

I'm done for today now, I've had two crashes involving the nobles in short succession.

I am hoping that this will be fixed. Also there are some windows that cannot be selected with keyboard.. like when selecting for raw materials.

Not yet. DFhack team says the old UI is their #1 most requested feature and there is someone working on it

Just dropping back in to see if there's any keyboard only support yet? I tried the newest "classic" release and just can't stand using the mouse and WASD for everything, maybe there's a mod or some setting I'm missing to make it like 47.05 (which is what I've been playing for over a year now I think).
