Hello again!

It's a brief news post this time as I've been doing a promised interim patch of the old DF, the text graphics one that people currently play. That'll be finished tomorrow and I'll be back to work on the Premium version - elves and goblins coming soon!

It's just as well since all of the work I've been doing the last few weeks were bugs and balance fixes that also apply to the Premium version as well, among them a few crashes and a rework of the stress system that had up until now been causing some people headaches.

Here are a unicorn and baby to tide you over! [www.kitfoxgames.com] I'm not sure if there are baby unicorns in the real world, but Dwarf Fortress has them.

I agree. I just wish the DF forums had some moderation to guide the narrative a bit more. They're not the worst, but they do get their fair share of trolls. :\

Btw- there're such good How-to vids available out in the community wild... `No reason for anyone with a wee bit of self-initiative to be uninformed. Just my 2¢. <;b

@mwirkk The DF forums on Bay12games and Reddit are quite good natured and welcoming. The DF community on the whole is actually quite calm, similar to Factorio and Rimworld. It's just Steam is a wider audience with a lot more accessibility and reach that draws in all crowds, for better or worse.

Though this Steam forum is also well maintained and filled with compassion for the game compared to most and doesn't just censor someone's opinions which is probably why you see more "trolls". It welcomes all reasonable enough discussion to an extent

I won't say you're wrong. I think the best thing we as a community can do is encourage people we know to make forum accounts, and to report problems when we see them. I know Tarn and Zach try hard on the Bay 12 Forums, and the subreddit and Kitfox Discord are imo pretty well moderated, but it takes the whole community.
