Have the developers even played this game?

In some situations they give you a 2 minute timer plus the stop timer for an addition x seconds when you have zero possibility of playing a card and yet in situations where you do actually need time they give you bugger all.

Main examples being bribery and mires toll.

The selection timer being say 20 seconds, some decks have more creatures than 20 in so they give you 1 second to look at every card then make a choice and if you don't you for fit the go even though at worse case it SHOULD select the card you were looking at when then stupidly low timer runs out.

Even worse is mire's toll, if someone has 80 cards in they give you a forth of a second to look at each card. Why the hell isn't your ridiculously over timed turn timer used when selecting things.

Also why the haven't they sorted out the timer delay on stacks such as gain 1 life when another enters - you have to wait for a stupid second per stack rather than them just adding up everything and doing it in one go. Same goes for when you do add +x on a creature. If you have two "gain life when another enters" and they cast a kicked replicate it takes about a minute before anything happens.

So it seems like the developers simply haven't played the game or this would have been fixed in pre-aplha, either that or they don't see a problem in giving people two and a half minutes per turn when it's impossible for them to play a card. Or they have never used a selection spell against a deck that has more than 1 card in it.

Ever played against Ajani with Orzhova plane? After battle long as hell he must have had around 15-20 creatures in his graveyard. That almost gave me enough time to watch a movie while all the life gain triggers were happening. Gaining life point by point is so annoying...

I think they do it this way to teach people who are new to paper magic how the stack works (although thats something that actualy does not work as it should perfectly in this game) It is really annoying but i can understand why some people would learn from it, i think when creating a game maybe they could add variables that the host can set for example turn time as a set amount search times as a custom amount, also the ability to turn of indivudual life gain and such.

That would be a good idea, would be happy to see it implemented.
Most counter adding, life gain and other effects should be done all at once, since you can't counter them
I just played a match that lasted 2 times longer than it should because of all the life gain combined with ajani's pridemate counter adding
