Purged saves on repeated occasions.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with the game or the steam cloud itself, but I've gotten a 'Files could not be synced' error two times now after trying to start up the game, and both times all my saves were deleted. In their place empty slots. The first time it happened I didn't mind it much, figured it was just a one-time error. I couldn't be bothered to check it up online because the saves I had were pretty useless anyway. But last week I finally managed to go beyond the 15-star system mark, a new record for me. Unfortunately the saves are gone now. And I don't want this happening in the future again. I'd rather not disable the steam cloud as I switch between computers a lot. But if there's no other solution, I guess I'll have to.

Steam handles all the Cloud stuff behind the scenes, I don't have any access to that code, I just say "here Steam, save this on Cloud" and it just does it. The game uses Steam Cloud by default, and I've never heard of this issue before, so I'm guessing it's most likely on your computer.

Do other games you own work fine with Steam Cloud? Is your firewall blocking things? You could try copying the file manually (search your Steam folder for 'solar_save_game' and you'll find the save file) and saving a version.

Normally I wouldn't bother logging in to post, but since you're the developer I wanted to let you know that this exact thing happened to me last night. I had all missions complete and was at the boss stage, I died at the exact time that the boss was defeated. I wasn't sure if I got credit for it or not, then I noticed that all my saves were gone, missions were reset to 0, and I started out as a yellow star. After exiting the game and re-opening it, my saves are all still gone, and missions still reset to 0. Strangely, my achievements are still there.

This happened at 10:10pm, and looking at my save file it was last modified at 9:40pm

I was hoping that that meant everything was still intact, but even after rebooting and restarting the game, it starts me as a yellow star with no saves.

This is dissapointing, and I hope this helps you track this bug down.
