ez
I'll have to try that, thanks.
Ez until it does a triple explosive bite or slam that you're not gonna get away from. Blocking helps but not that much if you get an unlucky pattern. CotMD does wonders.
Initially it fires an explosive mine that explodes when you get close. Otherwise it sticks around or about a minute and you can't destroy it. The others are a slam and a triple bite combo, also explosive.
I agree with OP, the 3 explosions combo needs to go. It can kill a fully upgraded character with just under full life and most tanky armor, so it's way too much for any other build. I'm fine with one explosion attacks, makes sense, it's manageable, but the combo is obnoxious, even if I kill them on a regular basis. Basically what I mean is it does not bring interesting gameplay as the parry does, it's blending too much in other patterns so most of the time you'll get hit at least once.
Is it even possible to perfect-block all hits in a combo attack? Even if, I don't think that does much to the explosion damage.
I only had this attack once so far (maybe killed 4 or 5 of them in total) and it ended the fight pretty fast :/
And then, it wasn't me trying to block them, it was me trying to kill them as quickly as possible, with a lot of beef. Mutations towards surviving just a few hits, so I can smash it down, and pray that the attacks they use are ones I can sort of handle.
There's a good argument for never removing the haze, simply to keep the one at Old Oak from spawning and interrupting runs to Oak Lab.
All of this was before the update, so I don't know what it's like now. Started from scratch, and there's definitely been rebalancing in combat. Bombadier Beetles are cakewalks, but Stinkbugs are much worse.
If i see a wolfspider, i will run away or climp something. Infected wolfspiders then teleport-bomb-jump (or whatever that is supposed to be) after me and die from it.
I can not say i have actually killed one of those by hand, they just suicide into empty space. xD
So do most people on discussion threads complaining about easy to conquer issues. Just saying.
I actually let them hit me a fair amount depending on the mob because its brings them in right close, but yea parrying them is an issue because it shoots them back into the air.
Another thing that is useful against those mobs is that most of them allow well over enough time to shoot them with your crossbow, take out the shield and block, and return to bow. I find this by far the easiest way to kill them at this point (outside of throwing spears, but i refuse to lose more upgraded spears, lol).
