What wrong with developers not to use common PC gamepads? Why they force us to buy a ps3 or (like in Capsized) xbox controller?

I think capsized was built in XNA. XNA natively supports the xbox controller.

Tx for answering. I just ask, no offence: Is that so hard to write support for PC gamepads? PCs has PC gamepads (mostly). What would a xbox/ps3 owner say if a game will prompt for a PC gamepad? And why stores sell PC gamepads, if more and more games cannot use them?

I am playing with a logitech gamepad, both of my logitech gamepads (different models) work with capsized PnP with no special setup of any kind. Gamepad support seems adequate for me, however, there is no telling how other gamepads will identify themselves when windows determines them as devices. Good luck, and yes, 360 controllers are horrid, even after the DPAD updated for 10 dollars more. Overpriced garbage when on PC, logitech models for 30 or less can come with better dpad switches and stick tension.

I found this discussion while searching for stuff relating to Capsized only supporting xbox controllers. I tried to use my saitek pad - nope.jpg

In this day and age there is no excuse, and no technical reason not to support standards-compliant game controllers. Its 2013, not 1983, we shouldn't have to use emulators to get our hardware to work.

Given its XNA we're talking about, I wouldn't mind a bet that its simply another case of microsoft giving the middle finger to standards & open systems.

My logitech dual action gamepad does not works, nor the PSX pad.

And to make it even more funny, after i bought XBOX pad, (as other games doing this discrimination too) i found that you can COOP now, but not deathmatch! Deathmatch needs TWO XBOX pads!!! Ridiculous!
