Game Stuck on Black Screen

Ok so i am on the resolution route, right after finding iris's true somnium and for some reason after the scene where you speak with hitomi i get stuck on a black screen where i still hear the music playing and the cursor still moves, but there is no progress just a black screen. i am on the latest version of my graphics card driver, an nvidia gtx 960M, and have been able to make it through the rest of the game with no hiccups outside of a few crashes early on in some somniums. is there a way to get past this? my drivers are fully updated and should be capable of running this game, as it was able to for nearly 20 hours of gameplay.

personally for me just now, restarting my pc fixed it

i had also deselected anisotropic filtering just before launching it successfully
