That'll let you start the game outside of Steam.
Also, the Mac version of the game doesn't save to Steam Cloud, for technical reasons (Flash).
I have been a big fan of this game from the very beginning. Started to play the Island Dream demo on JayIsGames many years ago. Have waited for years for every chapter, starting the whole Dream Machine all over again with every new part. I have given this game as a present every time I could.
I realized on my own that I could still play the one I had installed, but not through Steam, which doesn't even let me uninstall it. That's OK, I don't want to uninstall it. So I know there is a mac compatible version (which the people who downloaded it before like StefanosK27 or I have) that is not available through Steam anymore. Is there any other way to access it? In that case, is there a special way in which the first 2 and the rest of the chapters should be installed so the game recognizes the DLCs as part of the same game?
Thank you so much for this incredible game, It's hard to give up on it and accept that we can't share it anymore.
Man, that brought me back!
As for the future of the game, I have something planned but I haven't announced anything yet. Sorry for the tease. Please stand by. Announcement is not far off now. Was waiting for the last ducks to line up, and they seem to be doing just that.
Thanks for giving us some hope.
I'll be looking forward for the good news.
(Hope they come before mid November.)
They let me play anything on steam deck, no matter how unstable!
So at least I can play it on there, but will hold out hope for a solution to playing on mac.
The Dream Machine was either the first or second game I ever got on steam and I have fond memories of the novelty of playing a game on my mac! :D
The developer of the game just said this a few weeks ago:
"As for the future of the game, I have something planned but I haven't announced anything yet. Sorry for the tease. Please stand by. Announcement is not far off now. Was waiting for the last ducks to line up, and they seem to be doing just that."
Thanks for sharing, sounds exciting!
