Just to say that I haven't any problem with my others games (that will take in theory a lot of more ressources).
I tried to set all to medium I can't go further than 30 FPS. And it's not normal that my graphic card is known in the game with only 3GB of RAM. DxDiag sees 6 GB...and I tried a benchmark on it that sees 6 GB too, like many other games that "check" the graphic card.
There is something weird here. I should not have these performances with this kind of config, it's weird.
Also the benchmark I used (UserBenchmark) sets me a 103 % gaming score with a great green score on my graphic cards...So I don't understand why in this game I have this very very bad performances, at the same as I desactivate all the checkbox in the details options and set all the other options to medium.
In fine, I will add that my graphic drivers are up to date (I verified it). I use the latest Nvidia drivers.
Just to let you know, I test the game with the first step of the French Tour in Brussels (town with buildings etc...).
- Reinstall all drivers
- Make clean install / vertify game cache
- lower graphics/resolution
if above does not work
- Clean OS install
More information
You have a budget grapchics card (I did not see your build, I don't click links) but most likely simialar or lower parts combined (MB, Ram, CPU, PSU, etc) Can't see if you bottleneck..
People sometimes overestimate their build and only thinks GPU matter.. a rookie mistake
In general, you may be right, but on the other hand the op should be able to play the game with better performance with his GPU for sure and the wrong VRAM shown is another valid point.
I highly doubt you can run KCD in 1440p all maxed out and over 100 fps. let alone 60 fps.
But feel free to showcase us some video or screenshots about it. My point here is that it might not be a "PC hardware" issue for the OP, but rather software issues.. That is why I asked for a dxdiag. Even something "simple" as faulty audio drivers could result in his exprience.
So again. without a dxdiag and more details the best options are what I wrote. update all drivers, reinstall the game or atleast vertify it and if nothing helps clean OS install (since he might have faulty software that conflicts)
This could also be conflicting with his hardware combo and beyond anyones control until its fixed by patches.
I'm not a rookie as a dev so...
And the dxdiag you asked me is on the link, I just launch dxdiag at save the informations of my dxdiag in a txt file that gives all the informations that dxdiag provided me and that you asked me, if you don't want to click the link to read it I can't help you more. I just put a link to avoid a message with Km of informations and let this topic clear.
For my rig it's simple : I7-8700 6 cores hyperthreading on GEN 8 - Cooler pump for heat - 16 GB RAM DDR4 - Geforce 2060 RTX 6 GB RAM - 2 HDD Sata 1 GB - 1 HDD Sata 2 GB. Run on Windows 10.
All drivers are ok and system too.
It's not about PSU or whatever, I can play all of my games clean and with stable FPS with this rig despite I don't have SSD hard drive. I don't understand why I have to put a lof of options on "low" to have something like 50-60 FPS while in some other of my games that ask (normally) a lot of more ressources I can run them in high/ultra without problem.
And the question is why the game tells me about a graphic card with 3 GB instead of 6 ?
I am in computer science ( first technician, today in development) since almost 20 years old so please, do not have hasty deductions without knowing me. With 521 games on my Steam library, I can say that THIS game should run smoothly on my rig or almost, if not.
It seems that this game is "wierdly" demanding. I just ask somehting near 60 FPS nothing else as my monitor is 1920x1080 60 Hz.
If you already updated all drivers and you don't have bad software, then most likely the problem is either with the game itself (sometimes hardware/software conflict) most likely you are just unlucky, but this means you have to post that information on their forum (not on steam) so they can gather the information.
Your PC is avarage/budget. That being said yes you should be able to atleast run this on high with proper FPS. Go post your troubles on the official forums, so they might take notice of it.
The game runs super smooth for me and without a problem (all maxed out in 1440p)
Just remember they will not answer you here. you have to go post on their official forum.

And also this game maybe doesnt reach above 60 fps for me all the time, but i dont need it anyway, i play on a 60 Hz screen setting. Also for me its not the type of game you need best latency, i only played singleplayer so far.
