Early Access - FAQ
Hello Survivor, you are among the elite chosen ones who have made it out of the underground survival centers, the so-called Endzones and must now act as the vanguard of a new civilization.

All kidding aside - With the Early Access we want to give you the opportunity to be directly involved with the development of Endzone - A World Apart. Over the recent development period we have noticed that the community is very interested in actively contributing feedback to the development and working constructively with us on Features and existing Gameplay.

In order to avoid all possible questions being asked more than once and to provide you with a comprehensive guideline right from the start, we created this FAQ.

Why Early Access?
  • We are committed to release Endzone – A World Apart as an Early Access title to ensure that the game is in sync with player expectations and feedback at all times. We are always sensible to new ideas, and your feedback is highly valuable to us. Therefore, we are highly committed and equally motivated than ever before to make Endzone the best game it can be. This is our take on open development, being as transparent and forthcoming as we can be. And the best place to experience our dedication is our discord server. Join us and let’s have a talk about Endzone.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
  • Our current plans provide for a development time of at least six months. But, since our feature wishlist is already pretty packed, we’d like to take our time and leave the door open for an even longer development period. We’ll try our best to keep everyone up-to-date about our goals and plans during Early Access.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?
  • We worked really hard to make our Early Access release feature rich from the start. In the beginning it will be limited to one challenging endless game mode and a tutorial. The core gameplay itself is already in a pretty good shape and offers several disasters and threats, and will probably push you to the limit. For sure, it’ll cost you several hours to actually master it before you’ll be able to experience late game features like electricity or expeditions.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
  • The final version of the game will include several new features which we plan to add during Early Access. For our initial Early Access release, we wanted to focus on convincing and challenging core mechanics. During Early Access development we will work on those, but most importantly, we want to create a challenging and long-time enthralling late game experience. In addition to this, we plan to incrementally add new stuff like missions and stories to the game.

  • On top of that, we will implement so-called “side tracks”. These are small to medium feature additions and/or polishing iterations that can include content directly influenced by you, the community. We’re also dead certain that your ideas and feedback will fuel the development of Endzone - A World Apart even beyond of its full release.

  • Please check out our Early Access Roadmap for further information on upcoming updates.

Can I stream/share/record/show the game during the Early Access?
  • Yes. We would even be very happy if the community takes the opportunity to document their impressions and gaming behaviour in some form. You are laying the foundation for the exchange of tactics, approaches and implementations within the game, which we very much hope for.

  • Within the game, a banner indicates that the footage shown is an Early Access version. As long as this banner is always visible, there are no restrictions in this context.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
  • The community is extremely important for us and practically essential for the development of Endzone - A World Apart. Through them we want to get a clear insight into what features are desired and how we can further improve the game for the players. We have seen many times how games started off great but missed to adapt to the voice of their player base. Our goal is to stay transparent throughout the development, be open minded and listen to our community.

  • We are permanently active on our Discord Server as well as in the Steam Forums and have an open ear for feedback, suggestions and wishes.

Of course, users with special commitment are highlighted in our community and have the chance to play a significant role in the development of Endzone – A World Apart.

What are the minimum system requirements to run Endzone - A World Apart?
  • Operating System: Windows 10 64-Bit
  • Processor: I5-2500K, 4-Cores @3.30 GHz
  • Graphic: GeForce GTX 760
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Hard drive space: 6 GB
  • DirectX: Version 11

Be aware that this might change in future updates

Will there be support for other platforms besides Windows PC?
  • For the full release, we plan to support MAC as well.
  • Support for other platforms will be evaluated during Early Access, especially mentioning consoles here. Decisions will be made as we are nearing full release.
  • We will keep you up-to-date on this matter. (Info is subject to change)

How can I contribute to the development and make my voice heard?
  • Stomt: Our game contains an implemented bug report system, through which you can report bugs as well as desired changes, features, design suggestions or whatever else goes through your mind directly to us. With [F1] you open the corresponding overlay and can send a "Stomt" to us.

  • Discord: The following link will take you directly to our Discord Server[https://discord.gg/HF7SaH7]. There not only we, but also other members of the community can be reached. Special channels have been created for reporting bugs, discussions and feedback. You will also be the first to be informed about changes and news.

  • Steam: The discussion board has pinned discussions in which feedback in any form can also be placed. These threads are regularly reviewed and moderated by us.

How do I report a bug?
  • Navigate to [%USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Gentlymad Studios/Endzone]
  • Zip the whole Endzone folder including the current savegame in which the bug occured and the latest Player.log
  • Send a mail to [support@gentlymadstudios.com] with the attached ZIP-file and a short description of the issue.

Note:
As previously described we feature an implemented tool called "Stomt" to report issues and other relevant information. Though, we cannot guarantee, that this tool does work, once an error opens the development console. In this case please provide is with the logs as described above.
