Most minigames are worse than in the previous engine games
Karaoke - absolutely gutted, bad feedback, hard to look at screen format, weird mixing of the songs (sometimes, Kiryu is not audible at all)

Toylets - stupid beyond belief, hard to control, tied to framerate

Batting - effort to impove one of the marginally better ones, still badly playable

UFO catcher - wonkier than before, the claw letting toys go for no reason

Virtual On - just a bad old game, I suppose

Virtual Fighter - One that I actually enjoyed, the series was always good

Majima Construction - bad controls, not that great as a connept tbh. A mediocre real time strategy with bad controls and interface. Pour money from the club into fortify = have an easy game

Cabaret Club - Good, but that's because it's excactly the same it was before

Shogi - For some stupid reaons, western symbols for pieces were removed, making the game unnecessarily hard for westerners (yes, we find it hard to remember five or so different characters for Gold General)

Mahjong - could use better hints on what hands are possible. No problem with this one, though, because everything can be memorized.

Darts - darts are actually okay, no complaints here

The really good minigames, that was Bowling, Pool and Pocket Circuit are good for some reason.

That makes the game so much thinner content wise.

Forgot Golf, well, golf is actually okay. Not great, but not broken or unplayable.

Personally I prefer the new karaoke layout, since previously the bars would switch speeds without warning. Consistent music measures are much appreciated.

That is true, but somehow, I had no problems getting top scores in the old games, and now I am just average, and I don't think that my perception of rhythm has changed. IMO the problem is that there is no sound/vibration cue when you press the button, so you don't basically hear yourself where you are in the grand scheme of things.

what? there absolutely is a sound when you press the button, and i'd even say that it's too loud
also how dare you call virtual on bad

Compared to the first Y2, Kiwami 2 is content rich. Same story with Y1 vs YK1.

That said, a lot of physics based mini games are not on this game compared to other games in the series.

Such as: Cee-lo, cho-han, roulette, fishing (not the one in Y0), pool, bowling, pachinko, air hockey, table tennis.

Probably growing pains that comes with the new game engine.

I completely disagree about Karaoke, Karaoke in the new engine (same as with Y6) was SO much better this time around, i dont know about the PC version but in the PS4 version i had no problem with it and could easily perfect songs smoothly after a few tries as opposed to Yakuza 0 and Kiwami.

Also Pocket Circuit is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, only ever did it for the Completion and because it has substories tied to it (cant fight Amon otherwise unfortunately)

Toylets is broken and the ufo crane game gives you a much worse viewing angle, but otherwise I don't agree.

I never liked the bowling or billiards minigames. Pocket circuit was fun but it had its time.

I miss bowling, and kinda miss pocket racer
Completion List for this game was sadly a little easy, not as easy as K1 but way easier than Y0. I still loved it though. Karaoke is defnitely just harder than in other games. i think by adding those music bars they felt like they could get away with more complicated rhythm timings. On the other hand, the easier songs are extremely easy in comparison to K1 and Y0.

UFO Catcher is basically easier imo since if you just try to avoid putting it dead center and stab one of the toys with one of the claws you're pretty much guaranteed to win at it or move it closer to the hole. I think it's because the physics system is half broken.

Even though Toylets (Milky Nose) does appear to be tied to framerate, going in with a full bladder (3000 pts) makes it so much harder to control and takes longer for the gauge to fill up. Going in with around ~1500 or so pts (i used 1700) made it trivial even on hard. So I wouldn't say that the game is broken, just the piss poor explanation of it.

most importantly, karaoke is missing Bakamitai

Truly a DAME DA NE moment. Would be great to have Date-san on back up for this.

You're dead wrong on Virtual-On, it's a very unique (and fantastic) game that you really need to learn how to play it to enjoy. Try to beat the game on a single credit and the appeal really opens up. But yeah, UFO Catcher losing the perfect side angle really sucks.

Talk about Nitpicking, however I do agree on UFO catcher. That sub story gave me a hard time, whereas UFO catcher sub stories from previous games were a cakewalk

Toylets: Should be flushed down a toilet.
Batting: Can't wrap my brain around it.
UFO catcher: Funny enough for me it was broken in Kiwami, but works fine in 0 and 2.
Virtual On: No idea if bug or working as intended, but camera movement seems too slow here.
Karaoke: Could use a bigger selection of songs imo.

Rest seems fine to me.
