Nice
thank you SE
Thanks. I wish they'd try to not use it so much in the future though. It may delay piracy, but it surely delays a number of sales too.

I can finally buy this. Devil May Cry 5 next, please.
This is very commendable indeed.
I'm holding off for a bit.

Square Enix has not said it is gone, it's only gone, so it could be an error in the patch and Denuvo will return next update.

I'd really like to see something from them, in patch notes or as a news item, or even just removing the Denuvo listing (that is still there) from the store page.

I mean these guys aren't exactly the most reasonable publisher when it comes to DRM.

I've been complaining about RotTR authentication issues since Denuvo was rendered useless in that game and it's been literally years of them ignoring us.

I'd like to think this is more like the Tokyo RPG Factory games, ones that have good PC releases without Squeenix level paranoia, but since it launched with Denuvo I'm going to err on the side of caution until they confirm it's really gone and is going to stay that way.
Although, if it is, hopefully it's a good sign for other games.

I bought some early Denuvo titles from them, had no end of trouble with them and never any pretense of fixing the issue, but I'd absolutely love to get Final Fantasy XII and Dragon Quest XI on PC if they get a patch as well.

If it is really without DRM, I will pick it up during a holiday sale. Got other games to play through, but looking forward to some FF-VI styled goodness. :)

Agreed, it would be good to get some official confirmation from the devs/publisher before jumping to conclusions. They don't need to advertise it but yeah release notes for the update or similar so there is no guessing.

And yet half the people in this thread still don't even own the game.

Actually that's more like 70% of people in this thread who do not own the game on PC (yet). The reasons for it are plainly stated in the posts but I would expect someone who's as bad at math would be bad at reading comprehension too. Go get your endorphin shot somewhere else and take your poor misdirected attempt at a roast with you- try Twitter.

Now if you're willing to make a fresh start and explain whatever your point is as a reasonable human being and without disrespect, I'm ok with that.
