UPDATE v1.2

In a world where all trees are created equal. This version focuses on payouts for plants.

-- All trees have the same drop rate (100%) and resources. (15 wood per tree, regardless of size or type) I feel this was the average rate (maximum) so it would be a good fit. Open to changes though.

-- All bushes/plants drop 8 count of its resources regardless of type (100% drop rate)

-- Cut the regrowth time of trees in half

-- Removed the consumable stats because the baseline stats in the patch they pushed last week has better stats than what mine was now. (so if you dragging and dropping, delete that file

-- Added the Pemu to the 'passive' creature list

-- Removed the MISSING_LOC HUD message

-- Adjusted HungerStats to not deplete health until 'Starving'

Apparently I accidently uploaded the test folder with the initial release instead of the actual folder I wanted to share. I'm sorry.

Because I accidently uploaded the wrong one, the 'you are hungry' messages still appeared. This is the right one and eliminates those and only show 'Stuffed', 'Nourished', 'Hungry', 'Starving' as stated before in a more friendly rate.

Additionally, as noted in the comments below, the 'passive' creatures do follow you unconditionally. I figured if you wanted to start a fight you should finish it. These are easy creatures to defeat but I'm open to feedback if you guys want something else.

The tortise has been fixed and is passive now.

Hi, I made a mod that addresses some things I see in the discussions, along with some things I wanted for myself.

What you can expect from this mod is the following:

1. FOV is set to 95 now. ADS is set 60

2. Passive Creatures
a. Crabs
b . Deer
c. Turtle

These creatures are considered truly passive now, until provoked. In other words they will not lock onto you or chase you without reason. You have to attack them or be within melee range for them to be provoked.

3. Hunger
a. Higher hunger default stats
b. Tweaks to berries
c. Changed notifications

Default stats:
Max Hunger points: 175
Loss per second 0.02
Loss Per second walking 0.3
Loss per second springting/fast swimming 0.5

I completely got rid of the hunger notifications that were redundant ("you are hungry x3") and only showed 'You are hungry' or 'Starving', as well as nurished and well nurished. The bad ones will start when your hunger points are at 45. When your nourished it will start at 100. So no in betweens.

All berry consumables have increased in their use when you consume them. From 3 hunger points to 4.5. But no health points regen have changed when eating.

4. Movement
a. Move speed has been kicked up a tiny bit to 2.5
b. Sprint speed has been kicked up a ton to 5.0
c. Cut stamina loss per second in half (from 16 per second to 8)

5. You have a higher chance for a critical hit on an enemy. (Not super high, but just higher than default) Set it to 0.15

6. Inventory Cap has been set to 200! Because why not. (Note, this may or not be right for your computer set up. I'm not sure how they process resources in-game so it could take a lot of memory depending on your device)

7. Changed the animation speed of bows being drawn to about the same speed a sword is drawn. Because they just took forever imo

To use this mod...

(I used a free account so you might have to wait 15 seconds for whatever reason, if anyone has a better free file share site let me know. )

Right click on the game in your library and select 'Properties'
Click on 'Local Files' then there is a button to 'Browse Local Files'
A File explorer will pop up.
Go into the the 'Mods' folder, you will know you are in the right one if you see 'CreativeMode'
Just copy paste the unzipped Friendly Play Mode folder in there and that's it. It will show up next time you start the game .

The turtles still attacked me.

And when i attacked a crab, it seemed like they chased me forever. seems like the agro range has been increased when they do attack back :)

Really impressed with this though! keep up the great work!

I just looked and see I forgot to add 'Passive' to turtles behavior. Will update

And I guess I should have annotated the chasing. It was def intended. I figured if your gonna attack something it should be mad enough to chase you down until it's seeked revenge. Put i'd consider it an easy animal to kill.

Anyways, kudos to you guys not me, making this really accessible to 'mod' is a huge nod to the community as developers. I mean you guys let us control animations and game settings just from JSON. its brilliant. Thanks for that. I appreciate it.

Would it possible to add increased drops from trees and bushes, pretty please? In particular I seem to run out of Wood and Fiber every 60 seconds. :D

P.S. By Turtles do you mean Tortoises? If not, I haven't seen any Turtles as yet.

Ok. I can add that this week. I got school until Thursday but you can look for it Friday.

Thank you so much - you're much more talented than me. :D It will be a boon to pick up more Wood, Resin and Fiber. Of the three, Resin is the worst, as even after a tree-felling expedition that got me a total of 137 assorted wood I'd only ended up with about 8 to 10 Resin. I can hardly make the Torches I need when mining!

I kid I kid. The goal of my mod was to make it more friendly to play, but still have a difficulty curve once you rank up and be similar to default game mode. But I don't think what you're asking has a negative impact on gameplay, it doesn't really make it easier/harder.

I personally look for the tall tall redwood trees as they give me a lot of wood, but sometimes you need Oak for certain scenerios and crafting siutations so I can see where you want more there. But when I cut those red woods down my game lags out for a bit and I have a really nice computer (GeForce 1080 32GB Memory etc). We'll see how much more it can handle.

Based on their stats, the best tree to get resin from is redwood with a minimum of 2 and max of 6. And the chance to get that is 1.0. The worst tree is palm trees with min 1 and max 1 drop with a chance of 1.0. So stay away from those if your looking for resin in the mean time.

Best trees for drops are redwoods with 16-20 and the worst are palm trees. So basically stay away from palm trees :P

Maybe that's where the balance is, add more drops to other trees instead of every tree. I'd have to look at crafting recipes and see why others are so low, maybe stronger weapons require Oak or Palm? Not sure right now.

Anyways if you can think of anything else by Friday just let me know what and what recommendations of a good balance you think is and I'll see what I can do.

I do go mainly for redwoods, and just did a trial run to see if things improved, but I'm seeing a lot of 1's and 2's dropping, although I did get 5 Resin from one redwood.

Good idea not to make torches free, because that would be available in Creative Mode and I'm avoiding that. :D

Yeah I don't want it to be free either, just more friendly to play. The sprint speed was the killer for me.

Anyways, do you think the balance is quantity of drops, or regrowth time for trees? Or maybe its the amount of trees spawned or where they are spawned?

Seems like RomanTheKingBoo has beat me to it and offered one that doubles the drop rate. Check it out in the Modding forum

It's a link to the wrong mod though, unfortunately!

As for your other post, I think it's mostly the quantity of drops and partly the regrowth time of trees in Single Player. I sometimes window out of the game when I'm in my base and do other things, just to get the trees to respawn. :D

Hunger seems to be bugged atm.
Once my hunger gets down to around just under half.. I start loosing health.
Seem to be getting a MISSING LOC error occastionally while playing.
