The save system doesn't work
I am playing through the campaign, and I find that when I quit and reloading, the game has a random chance of remembering what level I am on and what objectives I have completed.

I have had times where I finish New Eden and reloaded to find myself back in the cave you start the game in. Is anybody else experiencing such issues? Is there any way to make the save system more reliable? (BTW, the game does remember how I have leveled my character.)

Well, it works sometimes. This is the first time I've heard that this game saves on a remote server. If this is the case, why does this game not mark itself as using the Steam cloud? If this is the case, then why can I copy profile/save files from one machine to another and expect them to work?

King John Babylon, what you are saying doesn't make sense.

I think he's full of♥♥♥♥♥♥to be honest, last I checked it autosaves to some directory deep inside the game folder, but the autosave can sometimes screw up and not work right.

Which is the problem. The saves screw up and not work right with disturbing frequency. I will probably contact Streum On Studio about this issue.

First I confirm the game doesn’t save on an external server.

I don’t remember to have seen this kind of issue. Try to run the game as administrator (right click on eye.exe located in steam/steamapps/common/EYE, in the compatibility tab check the “run as administrator” box).

Did you encounter the issue only after New Eden or also when you were on some other levels?

Oh yeah. Yeah.

I have also had times where a level's opening sequence doesn't happen, like starting the Mars mission after monolith and not talking to Dutch and seeing him get killed.

It's working better overall at the moment, but after every mission I find myself checking to see if it saved properly.
Oh okay,

Feel free to tell us if it occurs another time.

It just got worse.

I just played the campaign taking the path where you defect to the Federation. Incidentally, I did not recieve the substitution gate power during the dialogue that told me I was being given it.

As for the actual saving, after I finished the final boss fight I was immediately transported to the dream world with the three figures. No matter how far I play after that, I am returned there to begin the campaign all over whenever I restor the game.

On a related note, I have been telling Steam to verify the integrity of game cache after these types of errors occur. It usually fixes the problem, but Steam is constantly finding multiple corrupted files.
I confess it’s really odd. I saw you have just sent a message to the support mail. I will see that with you in order to find what goes wrong on your setup.

Thank you for your attention. I love this game, but this kind of bug makes it really hard to recomend to others.

But it is strange that others don't experience this problem. As I said in the e-mail, I will attempt to provide you with any necessary information about my machine that might be relevant.

I'm actually having the same issue. I'm getting to New Eden and then when I log out and back in it's making me start from the cave...I'm the same level as when I quit in New Eden. This game looks awesome but this is frustrating. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have been in contact with Streum On Studio for a short while about this. They are not able to replicate the problem.

However, if you send them an e-mail you will very likely get a response.

It is good (in a sense) to know that I am not the only one with this problem.

I also have save issues. It iwll retain my character progress, but will always start me back at the drop off point on the first level. Also, the journal entries (mission log) never changes from the first level as I progress. Could these be related?
