Can't launch the game
Verified the local files, uninstalled and reinstall the game. But still can't play the game.

Anyone know if there is a fix for this? From what I gather it has to do with the game trying to launch with DirectX12, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to launch it with DirectX11 since that seems to fix it.

go to Documents/Anno 1800/config and look into the file. to switch between DX versions, change the device type from DX12 to DX11 or otherway round.
People also said, that especially when having dx12 problems, one should check whether the display adapter is set to 0.

It works now but it is really concerning that any change on their online service renders the game unusable, especially when I play it always offline, it can't even connect it as I don't allow it.

Glad some agree on that at least - that it isnt right that we cannot play offline without doing all sorts of wacko things because uplay is crapped on ( still stinks) I wonder what is required for it to be always connected..

I have the same problem. Game is working 10-30 min

Same issue here. Did all that too.

Even tried deleting my saves and settings and offline mode

Same here: try to launch game, launch button goes to "playing", ubisoft connect briefly comes up, then disappears, and launch button goes back to "play".

Edit: just verified the local files, and game now working.

So it was a universal problem! (Art least in Steam). Well, at least I'm getting early good night's sleep today.

I heard that the game comes to steam today, but i can't purchase it yet. How do you play the game?
