After I kill the false princess, the merchant doesn't appear threatening me to get the shotgun and do other endings, I tried every way, I killed him, I hugged him, I killed him with the nuke from the store and nothing, what do I do?

I’m unable to ride the elevators in the dark castle part of protoventure, every time I try I just fall through the platform, the only way I can ride it is if I have no items for the jump hight but that means I can’t bring any items to the princess. Does anyone know how to fix this? I’ve tried re-downloading the game as well as verifying game integrity to no avail....
