Appeal to Zyddie!
Please state the approximate release date of the update with dx12 and the correction of current graphical errors. Many fans (like me) will soon pass the game twice. Without waiting for the update! There is not much content in the game to go through it more than 3 times. Is it possible to release an update with several small patches?

So that players would have time to enjoy the long-awaited «Gothic» - without suffering from bugs?

Glad to see you here, are there any news/estimations about DX12 patch to the GOG version?

I’m looking forward to next week’s instalments of what is currently my favourite soap opera.

Do you remember Jax talking to the outlaw in the fort with the Ray contracts, in Elex 1? That Jax is a hardcore badass. Elex II Jax, with the mopey face and saggy/wimpy shoulders and the terrible voice acting, is a completely different character.
In ELEX it is Alb Commander Jax, who gets role-playing options to either explore his suppressed emotional human side or to return to thinking & working like an Alb soldier again.

In ELEX II, Jax is more than a few years older, has become much less of a former Alb, the "Cold" system is gone, and if you want to role-play him as a "badass", there is the new "Destruction" threshold and the paths of the Morkons.

Btw, it's a different voice actor in the sequel, English version. I'm one of those, who don't find the voice-acting in ELEX and ELEX II "terrible".

Very big difference on how to give critic and what is allowed on the steam forums.

Funny how you only mention locking threads + banning people while completely omitting how you purge comments like mine that are civil, but brutally candid in dissecting your "quality" work and "top-tier" communication.

Shall I post the link to a screenshot to prove my point, or will said screenshot yet again be purged?

I know which of your comments was deleted, tho that was not done by me, there is multiple moderators not to mention valve moderators when a post is reported, so not everything is me ^^

That being said, I do delete comments/posts if they break steam ToS/Guidelines or is off topic that is accurate.

Unpopular opinion here:
I stopped playing the game, since it constantly crashed, has hard performance issues und overheated my pc every hour or so. I am a bit angry and sad, since I, as everyone else here, just want to enjoy the game, BUT I don't get how being at each other's throats is helping anything.

General discussions not only here, but all over social media, with devs etc. have become so angry and hatefueled.
Shouldn't we be in the same boat?

And yes, there could be more communication by PB, as to what's up with the updates.
But that's a COULD - if that makes sense.

For now my review of this game is negativ, but I am open to change it, when things hopefully get sorted out.

It has been extremely stable here during multiple playthroughs. It even survived switching to desktop - I'm a switch-to-desktop heavy user, since I take notes while gaming including saving screenshots of map details e.g.

Overheating is a clear symptom of underdesigned cooling power. A properly built PC would not overheat even if running at full throttle. And overheating can cause hardware instabilities too, so beware!

Hey sorry, I ended up sick last week.

So update, we are working on a bug fixing update then we are gonna see how to roll this out as it is a completely different version than the current main game, so we have to figure that out before we release it onto live version, especially since we never wrote on the store page that Dx12 was a requirement.

So sadly still quite a bit time until we are ready to launch it.

Perhaps work an option into the games settings to switch between the two? I know the last 2 Tomb Raider games had the option as well as Metro Exodus. Basically restarts the game when you switch and launches it from a different exe

Please understand that the blame belongs to THQ Nordic and only to THQ Nordic. This happens EVERY time a good company is purchased by a publisher.

1. Made PB make changes and additions for various reasons *cough*politics*cough*
2. Didn't hype up the game (a publisher needs to sell the game to the public long before it is released.)
3. Forced a release before it was ready (One of EA's favorite things to do.)
4. Released the game at the same time as over-hyped Elden Ring (add points 1-3 to this for an absolute train wreck/dumpster fire.) Elden Ring, which despite the popularity of From Software, had A LOT of advertising and hype in order to ensure sales.
5. Doesn't communicate with the angry fan base who were essentially ROBBED until the game is fixed.
6. Isn't working with other platforms in order to get us the beta patch. Again, now that THQ Nordic OWNS PB (I hate typing that out, every time I have to do it,) it is on the PUBLISHER to work these things out.

I am also to blame. Despite knowing what was going to happen after THQ Nordic bought PB, I pre-ordered the game. I gambled my money because I enjoy ALL PB games, just some more than others. My misguided faith has resulted in an incomplete and broken game on my hard drive that I paid $45 for. I gave it 50 hours, but enough was enough. I still hope for a peaceful resolution and a good future for PB, but I am not going to get my hopes up.

I hope that ALL indie studios are paying attention and NEVER SELL their souls to a publisher.
Hot take here. I strongly disagree. THQ Nordic did not force anything but for the game to release on time.
game was not ready for release as it's not properly optimized, you say THQ only forced it to be released "on time", in a not ready state ... sounds like you're confirming it's THQ's fault.

Will we ever see a dx 12 release?!

Implementing DX12 isn't a simple thing. It pushes a lot of responsibility on the engine developers to properly manage everything.

I'd rather they take their time and iron out as many issues as they can before releasing it.

Also, I hope they add DLSS support while they're in there making the DX12 renderer.

A voice of reason.

DX12 is part of their ongoing development of their graphics engine anyway, regardless of the state of development of their "current project" (= next game they are working on). And since the beta release of ELEX II is affected by various rendering issues, it is very obvious that it cannot be released as is, because the changes for DX12 are not complete yet.

Someone from Piranha Bytes, who knows the internals, could tell about their game engine design, modularity and such, and whether the graphics engine stuff works like a replaceable backend component that can be upgraded without pulling in unrelated changes which may break the game elsewhere.

Kindly work on your attitude!

did you skip past their various responses in this very thread along the lines of "We can't even tell you what we're currently working on, and we definitely can't tell you any ETA of any kind".
It is not a matter of "we can't" but "we don't want to do that". It is common business practice of them to not disclose anything about their "current project" before something is ready enough as to be shown or as to start talking about it. One can speculate all day that their current project is working on ELEX III, but still it will be necessary to wait for them to open the flood gates and start talking and e.g. start showing alpha state footage. With the continued work on the DX12 stuff, it's the same, but talking about it before it's ready makes no sense.

So far, so good.

Clearly you have noticed that the released and patched game is playable and has been "completed" by quite some players, not only those that published guides and walkthroughs.

- No new bugfix or expansion patch on the horizon = almost 4 months of nothing
After what I've experienced while playing the game and while following topics that discussed regression caused by the patches, I'm not aware of any immediate reason to release a 5th patch that doesn't improve the performance the DX12 support is hoped to improve.

Originally posted by B166ER:
- DX12 beta, of which PB can't even tell the progress, nor the ETA
Then you haven't paid attention. :steamsad: PB don't publish an ETA for patches (and not for their next game either). That the support for DX12 is only available as a beta release is enough of a hint that they don't consider the DX12 support final - but still they are interested in feedback from guinea pigs, since typically public beta testing leads to finding more bugs than the more limited in-house testing with a finite set of hardware/runtime environments.
