LADDERS KILL MEEPLE
this needs to be fixed!

it's impossible to play the game right now because at some point invariably one of the ladders will "stick" all the meeple and they'll all die there on the spot.

this is especially annoying because there's no tools given to the user so that he may declare an all out war on that ladder : turning all of your meeple and all newcomers into engineers does nothing for the issue.

if ladders are going to be the buggy deathtrap they are you should at least provide tools for the user to be able to fight back, such as being able to putt priority on reclaim orders, and being able to perform any build or reclaim order on the adjacent squares from the ladder square including up and down.

its prob the wall behind the ladder I've been having problems with walls not letting them move same with airlocks on some meeps they will just stop using them.

Yeah, I tried to create a mini room with a door around a ladder to separate it from a larger room. (Since ladders don't seal off oxygen as far as I can tell, I wanted to split the oxygen up).

With just a 1 tile sized room around the ladder, my entire station got stuck and died. So I just reloaded and built a 3x3 room with the ladder in the center instead. It works fine, even with oxygen tanks adjacent to one side of the ladder.

It seems like there are a lot of quarks like this that we've gotta design around. Hopefully they'll get fixed soon, since these sorts of things can really mess up a playthrough, especially if you don't know why it's happening. The developers seem very active though, so I'm sure they'll get to it, :)

ladders should double as bulkheads... it really would be for the best. or at least putting walls next to ladders shouldn't make them bug out like this.


you're forced to compartmentalize due to the oxygen mechanics that are core to the game. but then the game doesn't let you with ladders that bug out.

this post is meant as constructive feedback to the devs.
Just +1 here — lost all my meeples on my first playthrough due to this bug. (Specifically, they appear to be able to *climb* ladders with walls next do them, but not able to *descend* said ladder later. All my meeples got stuck on the top floor and died.)

Yeah, I really do think ladders should act like bulkheads.

Or at the very least make it obvious that they don't, since that's not something that's easy to discover or be sure of. (Being on different floors makes it hard to highlight and tell they're sharing oxygen).

Although, if your mouse is on a tile on one floor, and you move down a floor, that tile will still be visible. When you hover over the room below, that's connected to the one above with a ladder, you'll see the room above switch to blue as well. (So you know they're sharing oxygen). If you test with two rooms not linked by ladders, they won't have this same affect.

Idk if that's a bug though.
In my game, impossible to link the ladders between them on the differents floors.

[Of course, the ladders are on the same plane X and Y. Just Z is changed]
