Looking for the Fast Travel Hub Mod
I am looking for the Fast Travel Hub for Oasis that lets me teleport around the map instead of always starting from T-Bone Junction. The only link I can find links to a dead page. The file I need is FullDLCFastTravelHUB.rar I think. I already have WillowTree.

Nevermind, I found it. The mod works perfectly. I now have access to every map in the DLCs from a central hub. Very nice.

Where did you find it? I'm having the same issue (dead links). What instructions did you follow?

Just thought I'd say thanks for the bringing the thread to the top Dave as I was thinking there should be something like this as I'm playing Knoxx right now and didn't even know this existed. As to the current link I found it with a quick Google search for 'borderlands fast travel hub mod' which led to a recent Reddit thread (won't post the link in case it's not allowed) and all the links were current and the mod works as intended (not the same file name though).

In all my research, I never found a live link for the Fast Travel part of the mod. I did find links to the Oasis Hub that the Fast Travel mod (and other 3rd party mods) needs. But nothing on Fast Travel.

I ran across some references on the current gearbox forums (I believe) talking about a mod I'd come across in the Borderlands Guides pages here on Steam. I had passed it by since it wasn't very clear. But, with that other thread, I thought I'd give it a try:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/8980/guides/?searchText=Custom+Created+Content+Collection&browsefilter=trend&requiredtags%5B%5D=-1#scrollTop=0

It turns out the download is the Oasis Hub mod, ALL the old 3rd party mods that use it, and some weapons and things. It's 1.5 GB in size. I downloaded it and looked it over. The mod part consists of a whole lot of new files to copy over to the Steam Borderlands folders and can be removed just by deleting those. I copied those all over and it works wonderfully (the Fast Travel mod is under Fast Travel gate 6 in the Oasis Hub). I've been doing some missions there and the ability to just get to the game instead of driving that road has made a huge difference in my enjoyment.

I wish the author of that Guide had broken the Oasis Mod/Fast Travel part out into its own download. But, regardless, I sure appreciate it. I'll probably look at those other 3rd party maps later.

I downloaded the file I needed here. I downloaded the October 23 2010 file. That is the one I needed. --->

Thanks. I tried searching the google code archives but didn't find it. I must have done something wrong.

For the Oasis Hub, itself, I found two sources: one on Nexus and one on ModDB.

http://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands/mods/2/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fborderlands%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D2%26preview%3D&pUp=1

and

http://www.moddb.com/games/borderlands/addons/oasis-map-hub

Did you use either of those? If not, where did you grab the Hub?
MikeSol99 Mar 22, 2017 @ 6:34pm
Dave, I don't remember where I got the Hub but I checked both of those links you posted. My file matches the file from the first larger link you posted.
DALCOhstangultion May 26, 2017 @ 2:01pm
I'm going to document the whole process in one post so others don't have to dig through this.

1. From:

http://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands/mods/2/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fborderlands%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D2&pUp=1

download and unzip the Oasis Map Hub. This is the empty mod that enables the Oasis hub. None of the files in it overwrite anything in Borderlands. So, if you want to uninstall it, just reverse this process.

2. From its Binaries folder, copy the UE3ShaderCompileWorker.exe file to your Borderlands Binaries folder (on mine, that's at Steam\Steamapp\common\Borderlands\Binaries).

3. Copy both its WillowGame\CookedPC\Maps\MapSlots folder and WillowGame\CookedPC\Maps\Oasis folder over to your Bordlerlands Maps folder (on mine, that's at ...Borderlands\WillowGame\CookedPC\Maps).

4. Copy its savbkp.bat file over to your Borderlands folder. This isn't necessary since all that does is make a backup of your save files when you run it.

5. From:

https://code.google.com/archive/p/s6fulldlcfasttravels/downloads

download and unzip the FullDLCFastTravelHUB.rar file and unpack it.

6. Copy its mapslot6.umap file to your Borderlands Mapslots folder (...Borderlands\WillowGame\CookedPC\Maps\Mapslots). You'll be overwriting the existing mapslot6.umap file. But, that's just a placeholder from the Oasis Hub, above.

7. Just to be safe, make a copy of your SaveData folder (mine's at D:\Documents\My Games\Borderlands).

8. If you don't already have it, download WillowTree# from:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/willowtree/

I used the latest version (which is labeled "experimental"). WillowTree requires MIcrosoft .NET Framework 3.5 service pack 1. I don't remember if it prompts you for it when you first install/run it.

9. Open WillowTree, and then open your save in it (Click the icon at the top left). Switch to the "General Info" tab, click on the "New" button on the right side, then on the arrow on the dropdown menu and scroll down to find Oasis. Click on it to add it to the list of "Visited Locations." Save your file. There are other methods for activating fast travel to Oasis, but this looks like the easiest (see the Oasis Hub readme for more information).

10. Start Borderlands and Fast Travel to Oasis (should be near the bottom of your Fast Travel locations). From that hub, you'll want to use the Fast Travel post labeled #6. That will take you to that mapslot6 map you copied earlier. The Knoxx DLC Fast Travel locations are down the elevator near where you spawn.

I'm replying to this to save this if I do something wrong if I try it again. This is a perfect tutorial, thank you for the time you put into this!

Thanks for this, will try and apply it now. Do you know if it disables Achievements?
DALCOhstangultion Mar 13, 2018 @ 10:19am
I'm pretty sure it doesn't disable Achievements. By the time I did this, I had already gotten all of the Achievements. But, I believe my wife and I used it in a coop game a couple of times and she got Achievements during those runs.
Roz Mar 13, 2018 @ 10:49am
Perfect, thank you for the reply and the guide.
MikeSol99 Mar 13, 2018 @ 4:41pm
I started this thread over a year ago!

I still have Borderlands and the fast travel mod installed. Achievements work fine. At least they do if you are only using the fast travel part of Oasis (map area #6).
Roz Mar 14, 2018 @ 12:30am
Can confirm, just got the Brains achievement. Great thread!
