I thought about going down there, but I learned my lesson with the pickaxe ;)

I wonder what happens to the game after you fail. Is he going to reset it or can you just remove your cloud files...

Idk, I'll try the cloud files and report back. *fingers crossed*

I think you can always go to the save folder (C:\Users\*your name*\AppData\LocalLow\Studio Seufz\The Longing) and replace savedata.txt (which is the current save after that ending) with savedata2.txt or bak1.dat or bak2.dat (which is the save before that ending).
uka7777, You absolute mad lad! You saved my bacon!!

Did using backed up saves have any negative effects? I also got the bad ending thinking I was solving some puzzle, lol.

No, I've been using a backed up save for about a day and I haven't noticed any negative effects.

U can just turn off cloud save and backup your save file, then try it yourself.
this game naturally blocks you from playing it after you reach one ending if you haven't backed up your save... this should be illegal and i'm glad i got the game through other means

The game makes automatic backups. Also it's definitely possible to play again, even without touching the backups, just not something that is intended by design.

That is exactly what i said. Once you reach an ending you are locked out of playing the game unless you pull a backup, either one you made youself or the automatically generated ones. As i said, this design choice should be illegal

Not exactly true. It's possible to restart the whole game.By waiting at the end screen.

would this restart the game from the beginning or from before you chose to end it? i would love to explore and play all endings myself, but i dont want to actually play the game four times, since most to all parts of the game seem to be the same. that would make it a grind which ruins the beautiful atmosphere the game has to me.

if there is truly no other way ill have to fiddle with the save files, but thats less than optimal haha
