No craft cost

I'm not seeing the "no craft cost" under world modifiers. Anyone else having this issue? I even tried making a new character and a new world but "no craft cost" is still not showing up under world modifiers. I also tried reverting to the previous version and then reinstalling the latest patch to no avail.

You have to use the console for no cfraft cost. No build cost is the one in the world mofifiers menue before you start game.

* World modifier “No Build Cost” no longer allows food to be placed freely, this is now part of the “No Craft Cost” world modifier

Sorry for the oblivious follow up question, but how do I turn no craft cost off again? I've tried various combinations but still am able to craft freely.

If instead of setkey you use the command "nocost" without the quotes then all you have to do is type nocost again to turn it back off.

turns it on

F5 is the key that opens the menu

Once you are done with no cost building

F5
nocost

turns it back off again

You can also turn devcommands back off by

F5
devcommands

Uhm... This is all available in the "world modifiers" section, that is available when you select a world to load. No need for any F5 shenanigans. If it doesn't show up for you, then you most likely have a mod problem.

I think you are refering to nobuildcost ElectricD, but OP is refering to nocraftcost.

There was a recent bug that let you craft food with the new serving tray when using no build cost for free. It was treating the serving tray ike a hammer. Since food is crafted and not built, the devs fixed it so food is correctly a nocraft item and not a nobuild item.

Thanks for the clarification KnightT! Commands have changed a bit over the years and I admit I am not in a current playthrough right now.

I just use debugmode. "B" toggles no build cost.

Just remembered I need the setkey because I am on dedicated server. Debugmode and nocost does not work on server without mods.... setkey is the ...... key?

If you're not the admin of the dedicated server, I'm not sure you can activate devcommands in the console to setkey.
It's kind of an anti-cheat thing. If the admin gives you admin privileges, then I think you would be in business.

The problem with dedicated server is that you can use devcommands to set special keys like this, but you cannot use “listkeys” to check which keys are active.
You need to install serverdevcommands to check it. And another problem is that with serverdevcommands you cannot set keys. So you have to restart the game and switch mod profiles to set and check keys.

Also some of custom world modifiers will be reset to default on server restarts and backups. I don’t know if that is intended or just an oversight by devs.
One of them is skillreductionrate=0 which i use on my server and it is really annoying to set keys every time i want to make a backup. I’ve been struggling with this since they added world modifiers.

I really hope devs will add listkeys to allowed commands for server admins to make it easier for us and also fix this thing with resetting of some world keys on server backups.
