So, how much play time does Mistlands offer?
Title.
From a non builder / larper perspective. Basicly someone who progresses.

PS: That animated trailer... what a waste of resources.

All depends on how quick you find the infested mines, and how many black cores they have... latest play, it took me 3 days to find one mine, and it only had one core. (15 needed)

Could be anywhere from a few days, to try all the new gear and skills, to very long times, if you don't find the dungeons easily.

PC Gamer calls this update "massive". Hope this helps. Link: https://www.pcgamer.com/valheims-massive-mistlands-update-now-live-for-all-players/

Ty, gonna check it out right away.

*EDIT*
Well that was more akin to the official post and not much in-depth.
Still, appreciate it.

As much as you want. If you're asking this question, you're not a survival game type-of-player.
You can beat the first 2 bosses almost right away, but when playing with friends, I can spend more than a month just to build a solid base (full on village) & outposts before even killing bosses above that. If you're not into building & crafting, I don't even get how someone can play this game more than a week.

The ''how long does it take'' question is relevant for games like Assassin Creeds and such, not a survival smh

I mean, what's your definition of playtime? Everybody has a different way of playing this game

It looks like it offers a ton of time if you don't rush it or use spoilers. Cohh Carnage the streamer has been in the mistlands for days.

You can probably get all of the new gear and kill the last boss in well under 24 hours of playtime. It depends on how lucky you get with the dungeons and finding skulls to mine.

it offers about 5 days of play time assuming you were fully geared from the plains. I don't mean 24 hours X5 I mean like a few hours a day for 5 days.

Calling Valheim a survival game, actually being a survival game enjoyer, is quite a stretch to me or I'd have to generalize really hard.
And I pretty much prefer to dictate whats relevant to me myself, thank you.
Besides, I got well over a hundred hours, so it's not like I didn't do a good portion of building and larping my ass across the world either.

Well, beating the actual content and not larping around. I wanted to know about the meat of the actual content and not the artificial content I create for myself.

Did cost money to produce that could've been used to benefit you, me and everyone else who owns the game instead.

Gotcha. Thank you. That's actually quite decent. I was afraid of it being waaaaaay less.

Got it. Thank you. Sounds good.

Not a zero-sum game and the cost of supporting a smaller studio to help advertise their game isn't going to change the content added to Valheim.

This thread's topic is not the gameplay trailer.

If PC Gamer thinks this update is "massive", I can only imagine what else they think is "massive" in size as well....

Valheim can be blasted through really fast if all you want to do is kill bosses and "beat the game". It offers a ton more but if that's not your thing then you'll get a bit more out of Mistlands and then be bored again because the next boss isn't ready yet.

"Larping" around--wtf does that mean? Live Action Role Playing in Valheim? I'm sure some people do that if they are RPG heavy but otherwise you're just crapping on other people's play style (if they're not driven to "beat the game" like you).

If you enjoy the total experience then there's a lot to do. If you only want to kill bosses then yeah, you'll have some fun for awhile then you'll finish and be back in the forum demanding the next biome/boss. Probably should just have waited for 1.0 release if that's all you get out of the game. IMO

How much playtime? As much as you want. Why hurry through the game? Run around explore enjoy the game. I'll never understand why people want to speed through a game. The whole point of a video game is to go on an adventure to take you away from the real world. But to each their own if you find enjoyment then my hat's off to you. :steamhappy:
