The 'always online' requirement is keeping me from buying this game
The servers will inevitably shut down one day, leaving a very expensive game unplayable. If it had an offline mode, I'd probably have already bought it. The player numbers are really low, the servers won't last more than a year or two. It's one thing to shut down a free to play game, but something that costs $60 plus--there should always be a way to play offline.

Edit: and no Steam Deck support either. This game seems like it would be good to play portably, but again the always online requirement kills that too.

Avoid like the plague......

Ironicly there could be a good game in here and I don't mind the play cycle.

BUT

IT IS MONETISATION IN THE WORSE POSSIBLE WAY.

Granted it's mostly cosmetic but every where you turn its trying to make you throw money at it.

IT IS NOT WORTH THE 99$ entry cost but that being said its not as bad of a game as i originaly thought..

AT ITS SOUL ITS A F2P GAME WITH LOTS OF MONETISATION.
Nope, the game is a buy-to-play game with some cosmetics thrown in. What a free-to-play game does is lock either convenience or normal progression speed behind a paywall and constantly moves the goalpost of how much you have to pay in order to stay relevant. There are some small exceptions that persist only on cosmetics but even free-to-play darlings like Path of Exile and Warframe have some cash shop items that you have to get if you are going to play them seriously.

Its Crossplay u will find Players all around the time.
And the Developers are planned so much content.
Don´t overact like this in a digital world.

After sinking 3 more hours in to the game i must admit its growing on me and i am actually enjoying it.

Nice the first Battle pass was free for season 1 .

Not quite sure if its worth the 78$ i payed for it though but i am determined to get my moneys worth. ;-)

Yeah, I'm never gonna support always online garbage like this. But it's Square Enix's loss and I'm sure there's plenty of others thinking the same thing too. Also, why they released so close to Elden Ring is baffling in itself; like putting a gun to your own head and pulling the trigger.

I want to play it on Steam Deck too, and it says it is unsupported. Probably due to that same online only requirement. :/

That's the nature of GaaS. Like any medium really from casual phone games to MMOs. All things die eventually.

They're at least going to push this through 2 years so I might as well enjoy it.
