If you go to your library and find Fighting EX Layer, you can right-click on it and select Properties. There should be a popup showing up, select "Betas" from the menu on the left. There should now be an input field where you can paste the following code "8kV4N9OrtoMR" (without the quotation marks).
After doing so, there should be a new option available on the dropdown above where you can select the beta version "202510 - 30th β test". Note that this will replace your current version of the game. If you want to revert back, just select the other option on the same dropdown menu where you selected the beta and this should give you back the current version of FEXL.
Betas change the content of the game and will have to download some things whenever you swap versions keep that in mind
Also, there's an almost blinding amount of effects when attacks hit. I feel it will definitely hurt your computer at the beginning but it will mellow eventually. At least mine did.
And finally(and sadly), you can only play and fight against Allen or Terry.
I have played it and the differences in gameplay are so significant that it's essentially almost a different game and would be worth having. I really appreciate the effort you put into changing up the gameplay to create a whole new experience.
Tried updating the drivers, deleting save files, etc and no luck.
I was enjoying the game before hand with no issues, not sure if it's related to the beta.
Also, you can switch between the beta and the normal version on the game's launcher. Hope this helps!
I'M PLAYIN' AT 4 FPS FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD!!!
Thanks in advance.
It's like "Hey! We finally got it right and made an amazing fighting game! Lets not release it!"
If the fine folks at Arika ever read this, please consider a new FEXL release sometime in the future.
