Linux Support
As of 1/31/20, the game now officially is listed as supporting Linux, thanks to a number of playtesters who have confirmed it as stable. Still, there are a lot of different distros which may introduce unexpected issues, so if you encounter anything that seems to be a bug, please report it here.

Known Linux specific issues:

- UI layout when switching out of full screen
- Text in the "blueprints" dialogue overlapping

Hello! I just bought and tried Starcom Nexus today on Linux. Thank you for the support.

I’ve only played an hour or so, but haven’t noticed anything that felt like a bug. This is on the Linux beta branch, 1.0.3.

The controller support isn’t amazing (felt like not everything could be done with just a controller - couldn’t figure out how to exit options screen on main menu, for example). But not sure if that’s a Linux issue or just an early access thing. I’m using a Steam controller.

(System info: Ubuntu 18.04, using steam OS compositor. AMD GPU)

Thanks for playing and taking the time to give me this info. I'll take a look at exiting the options menu with the controller to see if that's also a bug in Windows (most players use keyboard mouse, so controller support has had less testing).

After further testing, I think it might have been user error before. Now controller support seems sufficient.

I played 8 hours with no issues with proton. You can find additional reports here: https://www.protondb.com/app/863590

I tried the Linux beta build, no issue so far. Is it running behind the windows build? versions mismatch, 1.0.3 for the first and 1.0.5 for the second

If so could you update it?

Both tested with Steam flatpak https://github.com/flathub/com.valvesoftware.Steam on Fedora.

Yes, I'll try to post an updated build soon. The differences between 1.0.3 and 1.0.5 are fairly minor. Thanks for the report!

Hi !

On my PC with Linux Manjaro, i can launch the game, no issue it seems, thanks for the support.

On themain screen, i see version 1.3, while the popup says welcome to version 1.5.

What is the real Linux version, and will it be updated to the last one soon ?

Linux is currently one point release behind Windows. The differences are fairly minor. I'm planning to update it very soon, but don't have an exact day yet.

Further report, after about 10 hours, still no issue.

From what i read, you should soon advertize about stable Linux support.
