Villagers are...Raptured?

When my villagers die of old age, they vanish--their bodies disappear so there isn't one to be buried in the funerary structures (plenty of space in those as well). Their goods are left behind, & the villagers who witness their...rapture, I guess...take an understandable morale hit. The population is over 50, so I know we aren't notified when they die, but are they meant to vanish like that?

This keeps happening to me also. I recently started counting because it's been getting so frequent. Of the last seven villagers who have died of old age, only one did not die outside. The other six left no bodies to be buried and mourned at the burial mound. I know we're not alone. There's at least one other, more recent, post about this, in the General Discussion forum.
