Has writing got any better than in the first game?
I've tried to play original Planet Stronghold, but after Loren its writing felt somehow amateurish (no offence :heartlove:). But I re-e-eally liked the Mass Effect vibe and RPG component, so I instantly added PS2 to my wishlist (I only found out about it today, sadly). But anyway, are writing and plot got better from the previous game? It's kinda big deal to me.)

I used an editor, I don't know if you played my other RPG "Cursed Lands" but in practice I wrote the Naga subplot/romances plus several scenes myself using that editor and people seemed to like it.
As for the plot for sure is MUCH longer - the first game is not even long 1/5 of this one.

Maybe you can read some reviews ?

Thank you kindly for the reply. :k8happy: Practice makes perfect, eh? That's really encouraging.)
Then again, I remembered that I endured the whole Star Trek The Original Series some time ago and its screenplay is rather, well, naive by modern standarts. But The Next Generation is a real gem despite its shortcomings (and nothing is perfect, which makes art human, I think). So I decided to give the first Planet Stronghold another chance and to learn more about its lore before going to the second game, which, I hope, for me will be The Next Generation of your series. :lunar2020contentgoat:

Sorry for taking your time. I guess I shoud've thought this through before creating a tread. =D But thank yoy again for replying - I'll definitely buy PS2.
And as I'm getting older I find myself liking sci-fi more and more compared to fantasy, so its truly saddening that the game of this genre doesn't get you good sales.( But anyway, I'm re-e-eally looking forward to Loren 2, and I wish you good luck in all your endeavors. :winter2019happydog:

No worries that's a perfectly legit question. While of course I'm not the best person (ie impartial :D) to answer this, I can assure that I've made big improvement over the first game, both in term of story, characters and gameplay. Also, there are some really tough choices and a lot of branching with 11 different endings :)

And that's what I love in RPGs. ^.^

imo it worse and removed a lot of player choice in certain areas especially in romance.

Can you make some examples or those "player choices removed in romance"?
Considering a single route in this game is longer than all routes in past game I find this a bit difficult to believe :D

Unless you refer to Planet Stronghold: Colonial Defense? but the original question was about Planet Stronghold 1, not the spin-off card game.

Well, I just started PS2 yesterday and I can tell that, IMO, writing is outstandingly better than in the first game. It feels very lively and I just love the characters. :lunar2020contentsnake: Poor Lucille - Nelson ignores her. :lunar2020gigglemonkey:
And I really like pro-Empire plot start - it adds to the conflict and drama. In short, I'm quite impressed so far. :k8happy:

Cool, thank you. About Lucille try to do her personal quest but keep an handkerchief ready :P

Oh, I intend to do every quest (especially character's ones) I can get my hands on. (Being perfectionist is not easy :LaughingOwlcat:). Sadly I have to wait for Tom's return to check out the romance, but I'm sure it'll be worth it. :k8happy:

Cool, I have a poll in my forums (since you can't do polls on Steam) and curiously Tom is the least voted romance! Poor Tom:

Aww, too bad.( But maybe he's just my type: loyal soldier and reliable person, but not without doubts and human flaws. Before playing PS1 I thought Tom is just boring goody-two-shoes, but his character pleasantly surpised me.) That's why I was so eager to start PS2 with him as love interest. :lunar2020contentgoat:

IMO it is way better than the first one, as it was said, it is really longer compared to PS1 (it took me 24h to finish PS2).

Yuterra Apr 29, 2020 @ 5:40pm
It took me around 60h to finish PS2 the first time.:lunar2019crylaughingpig: But I'm a re-e-eally slow reader, and I also like to ponder about what I read. I'm also into exploring and combat. :k8happy:
But anyway, all in all it was a great adventure. =) Now I'm going to hunt for the achievements. :lunar2019grinningpig:

Cool if you liked it please leave a positive review, since they seem to help a lot these days :)

I intend to. :k8happy: Though I want to see all of the script before that if possible.) And I hope it's ok if I write it in Russian, because I'm not that good in English. :RoflOwlcat:
