How to properly place thermal power plants in Below Zero?

This is literally inside of a thermal vent and it barely gets 43 C. Before I switch to just using nuclear power, is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a certain trick to placing thermal power in Below Zero so that it actually fills up the power bar to over 80 C?

No, it's not an issue of placing the reactor properly. Yes, some temperatures of thermal vents in Below Zero are incredbilby underwhelming. There are a few spots that work well, though. Examples in spoilers:

One good heat source is in the crystal caverns, although it does not even look all that hot. A very convenient place for thermal plants is below one of the large ventgardens in a passage that leads to Marguerit's base.

Where is the location of that vent? I remember there being some inconsistency in caves under the thermal spires. Most of them have the heat levels you'd expect, but a few would not.

Also, those large vents in the Purple Vents biome don't get hot enough to provide good power, even though they still damage you when they erupt.
