Help TN to adjust Automatic graphic
Ok, i tested two config in lobbies.
1. Desktop i5-4690, GTX 1060 6 Gb, 8 Gb RAM, SSD, WinX.
2. Laptop i5-8300H, GTX 1050Ti 4Gb, 8Gb RAM, HDD, WinX.
Lobby the same. When there is not downgrade in picture with 1 config, if 1920x1080, x1, x1, Low, Off (see game graphics menu), second config clearly down to 800x450 or something equal.

At that time game runs 60 fps +-1 on second config, when res is 1366x768, x1, x1, Low, Off (in training mode with CPU level 8 on hard stages like Forbidden Fortune, The Muscule, Throwdown with explosive etc).

Yes, in character menu game drops sometimes significantly (and up again to 60), but this nothing to do with actual online play.

For laptop users:
a) Dont forget in videocard settings to choose your powerfull GPU for games instead integrated Intell HD and so on.
b) Always plug you notebook to power supply - from battery your perfomance in game will be low.

What you can do to help? Use fps counter (steam settings) or fraps to see your fps in game in all heavy stages (and during explosive, Kraken animation, Break Blow e t.c. ) . And report your settings&config. FPS in game should be 60 only +-1.

Ok, lets just start another 100500 topics about how bad is automatic graphic adjustment. At least, i didn't have problem with this feature on my PC.
i'm not sure how this whole thing work and how to avoid it
i'm using gtx 1060 6gb, tried turning down to the lowest 1080p and 900p and going fullscreen. the game runs fine when i tried offline, but it still decided to turn it down even more at online

I tested it on my laptop (i7-8750h and gtx 1060) and it didn't have any issues at max settings when online. No downscaling.

It's a ps4 game so it shouldn't take much of a pc to run the game. Sekiro is stuck at 30-ish fps on ps4 and it runs locked 60 on that laptop so I wonder if there's more to this story... It's not like they didn't just rush the game out before it was finished.

i know gtx 1060 is good enough, that's why i've been wondering for a while
whatever i tried seems to trigger the reduction while you and OP doesn't get the downscaling :/

will be so much easier if KT explain how the game decides the graphic resolution ;;

You certainly aren't alone. I've got a 1060 as well and it scales me if I try to run at 1080p. I've just sucked it up and been running at 1600x900.

If it didn't bounce me up and down and destroy the framerate on random matches I might just let it do it's thing because I think it leaves the UI full res, and offline would be good. But it can't decide what to do and just makes everything a stuttery mess.

Just food for thought but have any of you tried changing settings in the nvidia control panel for the game? Something like forcing on or off vsync, or creating a custom profile for doa and restoring it to default settings?

Same thing with trying it windowed, borderless, and fullscreen?

And does monitor refresh matter? Anyone on a 60 or 75hz monitor, vs 144?

Maybe 60hz monitors are causing too much latency cause the game is forced to run with vsync on since it won'r actually go fullscreen?

in my case 1080p 900p fullscreen and borderless will always trigger the downgrade, don't know about window mode because the window was too small to even notice anything
also didn't try going below 900p because it will make the game look worse than PS4 so i might just play it there and be done with it ;;

i'll try turning off the vsync later

Try to adjust settings in Nvidia Control panel. 3-D settings, tab program settings, Add DOA6.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead or Alive 6)
Cuda - Default
AF - 16x (or lower) - i have 16
V-Sync Off
Open GL - Auto
Frames - 1
Shader Cash - On (but ssd, for notebook with slow hdd disabled)
Frames - 1
MFAA - Off
Threads optimisation - Auto
Framerate - Max
Power plan - Max performance
FXAA - ON
Antialiasing (On, 8x, Off, last - don't know, how in english)
3x Bufer - Off
Texture filtering (off, high quality, last, On)

Sure) I disabled V-Sync with fraps.

On PS4 DoA6 work in 60 fps.

I have a 75hz monitor and my game worked with a curved frame time until I turned it off In sync in the Nvidia settings.
Don't have fullscreen with any setting.

It's not normal. Maybe you run too much another programs in the same time? Try shutdown some program/process in task manager, disable programs in autostartup bar. Also you (while running game) can set up High priority to game. If you have some antivirus(not windows defender), try stop him.

With graphics optimization in lobby videocard (1050Ti) use only 50%(and less) power and so Intel HD 630. If i disable Intel HD, Nvidia Card stops work with display - laptop became ultra slow, in game 10 fps.
On character selection screen game suddenly uses too much hard disk (70%+ spikes). If you dont have ssd in laptop, than it's slow hdd with 5400 rpm. That is why people see lags and significant fps drop.
