Derelict Dreadnaught?

I found a derelict dreadnaught in a ships graveyard. How can I take over this ship? There's no bases here, and my heavy warp towage says the thing is too heavy (not surprising since I'm in a frigate lol.) There's no bases in the zone since it's a graveyard, so I can't tractor it there.

you musst more as one "Heavy Warp Towage" on your Ship make.

I just found a Sanctuary. Lucky for me, it was close to a friendly station.

I was able to tow it back to a base, thanks. Now I’ll just have to save up enough cash to gear it up. I only have like 30k lol.

The gear is significantly more difficult to get than the ship itself. You might consider selling it.

I wouldn't sell it. The credits will come in due course. Finding the ship for sale at a station could be more hit or miss.

hard to decide, if you can't use a found dread, selling it yields $300k+ which can improve a fleet to earn money much faster, but then the dread costs over a million, knowing which one is the fastest way to the top is nearly impossible

Dread is also a lot slower than smaller sized ships. With the way the game is set up you can take pretty much any class of ship to do endgame activities It is up to you to make the choice of you want to fly around in a slow dread or not. I switched from a frigate to a cruiser yesterday and I am unsure if I can survive slower :)
That is with a purple mark V capital impulse, 2 mark III speed boosters, a top speed giving specialised pilot and approximately 30% extra weight.

I was super lucky and got a dominance. I'm focusing on mining, so I was dancing in the streets when I saw that. It wasn't even in a zone that I had any business being in. I just warped into this level 40ish graveyard zone on the way to a regional mission since my target was outside my jump range. I saw a debris field, and I was feeling brave, so I went over there, and found the dreadnaught sitting next to it.

Also, swap to it before you sell it if you don't have it unlocked, yet.

Oh I'm not selling it, I'm going to use it. It will probably just be a while before I can afford to equip it properly

I recommend swapping to it once anyway, in case you decide to start a dreadnaught run before you equip it.
