Best tank build etc... please advise
Hi, i can't seem to figure out what's the best tank build.
I'm guessing it's defender+something? I heard druid bear isn't viable in long run to tank (sad cos i thought i could build it around buff bot)

oh, for buffbot, how do u maintain enough focus if you shapeshift to maintain your auras?

what's a good party build? i was quite a few hours in when i realized i was Necro+Demo which was same as one of my companions, so wanted to restart (i want to hear the voiceacting of the companions, so need to roll something else)

What's the most efficient healer or tank etc? Or dps? Thanks for the help. I've basically only sure knowledge on summoning stuff (necro+demo)

And to tank, is it just taunt taunt taunt?

I was thinking that a tank with defensive arts and beguilment could be very strong as it could buff allies (also summon dopplegangers that automatically taunt the enemies) and soak a lot of damage. Doing the reaver quests you get the Draconoid armor which restores 10 hp every second so that helps.

"most efficient"
hmm...usually the one you can play at top level. The question is rather: What suits you the best?

I finished the solo campaign yesterday with a druid shapeshifter as a bear tank. The bear can take a lot of dmg, 5k+ hitpoints. The ae-taunt is really good. You don't have to micromanage a bear during attacks with larger armys. Elementalist makes a lot of dmg, but it's clicky. Heal is also clicky, I think 2hand warrior is doing fine, weak in the beginning, becomes a bit overpowered at the end, and it is also not clicky. Whirlwind becomes strong, but the impressive dmg comes from all the passive bonuses of the talent tree, select the majority of them and focus on one attack or two attacks. I choose whirlwind it is really strong. In the end it becomes a one-shot talent for entire groups. But I also tested other speccs/talents before that. Since I head two casters, main was Elementalist, I had to click and select a lot. It still gets messy in larger fights. But the warrior helps a lot. With the best bonus talents he sometimes executes units with one 4K crit. I haven't checked other classes for max efficiency because it doesn't really matter, stick with what you're good at and what you like, that will be almost the most efficient way to play to the game.

In my case i've made 2 great tank build, wich is : Defensive Arts + Beguilement or Demonology.
The first one is more about self / team defense and buff where the second with Demonology is more based on fight back.
For now and for me it's the best tank set i've made. Also with a low amount of stats needed, where i use mostly Willpower and Constitution but depending on the situation to fit your need you may also need a little bit Strenght and maybe Dexterity depending on what spell you unlock.

I have a mercenary with fight and defense trees.
Heavy Armor (10 health per second)
Shield (every Block gives 1xx hp)
1400+HP and good resistances.
Only in rare occasions i need to heal her and she is the one ressurecting my other chars.. when i was to sluggish to hit the potion button in time.
(Have done the Dwarfen Rebellion only with my mains)

I would love if you actualle would be able to change the formation like in a real rpsg.
because pathfinding really sucks. "oh my tank is behind.. now everyone charges into close combat and after 3 seconds my tank is finally at the monster -.-"

Druid/Defense lets you create a tank with 100 in every single resistance on normal difficulty (will need good items though, but you can reach 90+ in every resistance even with bad items). Just don't shapeshift (you lose perk and item bonuses) and keep a beguiler around to buff with the protection aura (I prefer druid/beguiler. Then you can use the druid aura on your tank and every other aura on your beguiler). Also, there's a sword you can buy in the territory where you wipe out the orcs (the orc merchant). It autotaunts everything you attack, which will let your tank keep the attention of anything dangerous without spending FP.

Necromancy/x is a surprisingly good tank. Cannot be silenced, cannot be purged, debuffs & slows everyone he hits (upgraded later to everyone that hits the tank or is hit). Also, summons help a lot distracting the enemies...

Beguilement with Demonlogy. Later in game you cant die with him with the right items and you kill Bosses in a few sec :)

Demonology & Beguilement is really broken. In early game with bad equipment I could kill all windholm treasure chamber reinforcements (where the game tells you to flee) just with auto attacks thanks to the +25 Res & 10 health per second when below 33% health.

It's gets even more broken (on your main) after you finish the quest where you get the potion which gives you other synergy skills. I originally choose the Druidism potion for the synergy aura, but the demon shapeshift is the real broken thing.

The demon form (casted with 12 CON on Level 17) has 3k health and with the damage aura and defense aura from Beguilement does 1400 pure damage per attack with 91/91/100/91 resists. Somehow the scaling is different when in shapeshifted form. The defense aura when used in demon form gives +20 resists instead of +10 resists and with the damage aura (which also buffs auras) it gives +26 resists. Also the healing aura in demon form heals 12 damage per second which mitigates some self damage.

This may go abit offt topic but Druid beguilement.

Direct synergy: Lightning aura. Willpower based.

Druid: Namely shapeshifts: Willpower based.
Druid heal: Willpower based.

With this, you have a strong base for a cougar build that only gets stronger as you level since you cant cast spells, only have aura's while shapeshifted.

This makes it possible to spam 10 directly at char creation into willpower.

Me, given what im planning for later, im putting the rest into Constitution.

Once you unlock bear form, you can switch and choose if you need a tank or dps cougar as you wish.

No weapon required at all since your strength/int is still at 1. but the aoe taunt from bear will keep you goin quite a bit ^^

Once you unlock the synergy lightning aura, more passive dmg.
If your focus allows, go with the song/aura of harmony for passive regen to you and allies.

In later game, when you unlock more synergies, i plan to take tribal eater form since its constitution based. Keep my auras. Anything after this is just gravy.

The eater is broken it has high hp, nearly capped all stats, does pure 1000+ damage, has a funny aoe that will most likely bleed to death anything if hit and is not hero or big creatures.

If you spec will + consti as druid you can also pick the aoe earthquake that can literally destroy a whole base in seconds.

Druid + demon gives decent passives too when not morphed.

All you need at this point is a dude with beguiled for auras consti/will another druid if you want.

2 druid can insta smack base (and remember if you rush the main base in a game an destroys it it kills the faction.)

I could run 3 eater + 1 heal/buffer (druid/beguiler) all day.
